Description
My Place- Center for Wellness is a program that is run by people who are strong in their own mental health recovery. My Place focuses on mental health recovery, not mental illnesses or mental deficits. The people who attend My Place are considered “Members” not “patients, clients or consumers”.
The guiding mission of My Place- Center for Wellness is to “assist Oakland County residents, who have a mental illness, with their own personal mental health recovery journeys”. We do this by helping our Members develop a positive sense of self-worth, increase personal responsibility, cultivate constructive friendships- all by giving our Members access to mental health workshops, member-organized activities, one-on-one Peer Support and connection to other community resources.
