So thankful for the volunteers from the MACC and members of the 2018 Camp Somers staff who helped install a landscaped drainage system outside the Wheeler Lodge and the Kent Center this weekend.

This month we are highlighting Citizenship Training. Scouts learn to become active, and responsible citizens through merit badges, service projects, and leadership positions. Find out how to join a Scouting unit near you at www.beascout.org

Developing character means being helpful. We are proud to help organizations such as New Jersey Search and Rescue, Byram Township Police Department and Lakeland Emergency Squad in any way we can. Like using our amazing rock walls to practice high angle rescue drills

The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law. Over the next 3 months, we will explore how Scouting accomplishes this mission through the aims of Scouting. Each month our cover photo will feature one of the 3 aims of Scouting.

Young people need to know to be good and to do good. Few will argue with the importance of teaching values and responsibility to our children – not only right from wrong, but specific, affirmative values such as fairness, courage, honor, and respect for others. Beginning with the Scout Oath and Scout Law, the Boy Scouts of America program is infused with character-building activities that allow youth to apply abstract principles to daily living situations.

Huge thanks to Woapalanne Lodge 43- Patriots' Path Council for an amazing day of work at their fellowship weekend. Ordeal candidates and working brothers helped to update campsites, remove brush and cattails from Wheeler and Somers dams, removed the iceberg and floating docks, and many other tasks. Over 800 man-hours of labor were completed!
