The art of crafting has been handed down to me from one generation to the next. I was raised in a home where I grew up knowing my great-grandmas. They were daughters of the Great Depression and this came out in the gifts they gave at Christmas time. Blankets made of used pants and shirts, soda bottles molded into fish, food cans twisted and painted to make doll furniture, and so on were common place.
My grandmas were opposite in crafting attitude, but this created a full spectrum for me as a crafting artist. Where one enjoyed owning art, the other enjoyed making it.
I believe the enjoyment I get out of making my crafting art continues on to the person who ends up owning it. Weather you buy a stuffed toy, a doll, a bag, or clothing, my products emanate happy, especially in a world with complex gizmos and gadget, it's nice to have simple, quality made items that show true human effort in its creation while sparking the imagination.
