It's not enough to describe the cabins (clean, well-maintained, warm, cozy), Lake Willoughby (deep, a little chilly, fish-filled, spectacularly photogenic), nor even the proprietor, Renee (almost impossibly delightful, accommodating beyond reason).
Being a city dweller, I suspect I'm extra susceptible to the magnetism of the region. Even taking that into account, the Sense of Place here - Lake Willoughby in general, and Mountain Lake Cottages specifically - is awesome, and addictive.
Rain, shine, warm, cool - it doesn't really matter. This is all-weather relaxation and escapism. If you're looking for more, it's available (hiking, breweries, farm stands, golf, etc). And if you're not, even better.
I have stayed here many times over the years mostly with friends or
family who rent the cottage. Love the rustic log cabin style and stone fireplaces.
Amazing placeCan't wait to go back again..beautiful and quite Going back in a month
Quaint, peaceful, beautiful getaway location to bring you back to what is really important in life
I've been going to Mountain Lake Cottages for 18 years. It's the trip we look forward to all year long. We always plan to go with family and friends. Renee is so accommodating and takes very good care of the property. The cabins are clean and supply all we need. The area and views are spectacular. This is the perfect place to disconnect and unwind. Sip your coffee on the front porch and listen to the lake waters lap at the shore and view the starry heavens at night by the docks. During the day we swim and kayak in the beautiful clear waters of Lake Willoughby.
the first time when i went of mountain lake it was a good experience. it was a fun and relaxing family trip, the owner was really friendly. we decided to go again because it was really beautiful. the good thing is the owner remembered us, it was really fun, relaxing, and the place is perfect for people who want to relax with their families.
;) thanks for everything :)
