This may be the worst place I have ever laid my head, and I was in the Army for 8 years. Do not let the quant, bucolic exterior fool you. If it isn't the crack/meth head permanent residents, the homeless vagrants loitering around, or the people selling pot out of the corner room, then be afraid of the worst room you could possibly imagine. It's not exactly the gates of hell, but it is the pit of despair. If your choice is between visiting San Diego and staying here, or never visiting San Diego in your life...skip San Diego. The city elders should burn this palace to the ground and over the scared Earth erict a warning to all other motel owners that the are consequences for inaction. DO NOT STAY HERE.
Really crappy place, poorly maintained, almost no amenities, even the wifi didn't work. And the staff was just nasty. Unless you are desperate for the cheapest hotel around, I would stay somewhere else.
This place has huge potential! It could be organized, beautiful and quaint. Needs a lot of work. The gardens are completely neglected. The window hangings are practically see through...not conducive to privacy. There is no security...people were rapping on my door at 4am. There is not always personnel available to answer questions. Housekeeping does not make your bed or clean your room everyday.
This was the second worst room I've ever entered. We spent about forty minutes here. Fortunately, family members four hours away allowed my son and I to stay with them rather than endure this hole. Between the rusty metal bathroom door that wouldn't fully close, the broken tiled floor, the hazardous wires coming from the ceiling, and the rags covering the windows, this place moans "We give up". It was like something out of a National Lampoon movie. The only positive I can say is I learned a hard lesson here and will definitely check reviews before booking my next hotel.
Worst motel ive been too! As soon as i walked in my room there were multiple bugs on the wall. The bathroom is so uncomfortably small i had to turn side ways to use everything in it. I prepared to go to sleep pulled the covers back and there was another spider in the bed. The comforters had multiple cigarette burns in them. The towels had make up stains and so did the pillows. The sheets look unwashed and there is someone else's hair in the bed. More than half the charger outlets do not work. I HIGHLY DO NOT recommend this motel
U get what u payed for. There were spiders in my room, and webs. A little more cleaning would be nice. I brought my own sheets, sheets here have stains. Good for a only a 1 night stay.
Terrible rooms the room I was placed in well after checking it out decided to go get a bite to eat and when leaving I locked the door and checked to make sure it was secure and lol the door pushed right on in, so I requested another room which was a little better than the 1st one but not nearly worth the $93.00 paid with a no refund policy, I guess that should've been a red light warning. Had a neighbor whom we could hear as if she were in the same room as the wife and kids and myself.
NEVER EVER EVER WILL I STAY THERE AGAIN.........
Betsy was so nice and hospitable. We checked in at 12 am she suggested that we could stay an extra hour, until 12 pm. The room was clean and the a/c was cold. It was one of the cutest places I've seen in a long time. It reminded me of Laconia NH. I would definitely go back and also recommend Motel San Diego to everyone.
I stay here every chance I get. It's a beautiful place, amazingly friendly staff and close to everything. It's hard to find a place in San Diego that isn't always tourist infested and pet friendly and don't break the bank. Sure you may find one of the amenities but not everything all together. It has a beautiful walking trail / dog walk trail just feet away. Your ALWAYS greeted with a smile. If you need to know basically anything about the area they are more than happy to help. It's not over crowed like all the chain motel/hotels. It's calm and quiet. It's very laid back and relaxing. So if you're looking for kind of a quiet country type setting in the heart of all the cities hustle and bustle this is the best place to come. I can't recommend it enough. Hope you have a great stay like I do every chance I get to stay here.
The employees are great (I'm friends with the people that work there so take that into consideration) they are upgrading the whole place. New TV's and ac in all the rooms they are upgrading all the rooms. The people that run the place are nice and there are some nice people that stay there long-term. You basically get what you pay for and there is usually a decent priced room available when you need it. It's no Marriott but it is cheaper and works. Worth staying
The people who run this place are amazing.... Miss Betsy is so sweet and kind. Like a angel placed here on this earth to help people , make them smile, very giving and is someone I can say and up lifted my spirits and give me hope again that there really is kind people still out there that do care.. It's a old motel, but it's bug free , clean, has air and heat. Not the W hotel or anything like that , but I bet you wouldn't get the treatment at some super fancy motel as I have had at this place... They have been remodeling the place . The owner is a sweet older gentleman who is very smart. If you had problem here , or thought they were treating you poorly you probably deserved it... Or you were outta line.. They don't take any bullshit here.. Everyone who works here , they are like a family, but better. They work hard and take care of each other ....
