The Mortuary Science Department is the first college-based funeral service education program to be offered in Texas.
Students, staff, and faculty gathered Thursday, April 11 for a potluck luncheon honoring Cynthia Escatel, Student Success Generalist for Mortuary Science. After ten years of service, Cynthia has accepted a promotion. Effective April 16, she will be serving as Academic Unit Assistant in the Business Department. While she will be missed, we wish her great success for all she has done and heartily believe that she will be asset to her new Department Chair and coworkers. Job Summary:
This position is primarily responsible to assist our professional staff in providing designated services. Duties will include but are not limited to: •assisting in making transfers, embalming, dressing, casketing and transporting the deceased •providing support on visitations, rosaries, graveside, church and chapel services to the funeral director
As a mortuary student you will be under the close supervision and coordination of a licensed staff member at all times.
