The Morehead State University Horticulture program is upheld by the wonderful students and staff of the Agricultural Sciences Department. The greenhouses are not only a place where plants grow and flourish but a place where knowledge flourishes as well. The university farm greenhouses are a place where students can gain hands on applications that accompany in class lecture. The horticulture department makes a connection between Morehead State University and the communities of Rowan County through various seasonal sales and community outreach events that they host.
It's been a great year for our greenhouse sales so far and I cannot thank our customers enough for their support. If you’ve been by the greenhouses this past week you would have noticed that there is a lot of empty table space and that we are sold out of many varieties. Due to the construction on campus reducing the number of useable flower beds, we have an excess of flowers that were intended to be planted on campus. This means that we will now be able to sell them to the public! We are adding several trays of Red Geraniums, Vincas(periwinkle), Zinnias, and Impatiens. All of which we were previously sold out of and are now re stocked with. Stop out at the farm today or tomorrow and check out our newly added flowers!
