Great views with free parking and access to the active mission. Small shops are available to purchase candles and jewelry. Great for families and individuals to visit, participate in the mission. I would definitely recommend taking the time to visit San Xavier Mission

Great experience. Got the guided tour and learned lots of interesting information on the history of the mission and those responsible for building and keeping it alive. I hope to see it again after it's more fully restored.

Just wonderful and beautiful. Went for my mom. Mom passed 2 yrs ago Dec. 07, 2015 and dad 10 yrs. ago Dec. 12, 2007. Both loved the mission with their hearts. So for my beautiful parents and for myself I was there today.

Beautiful piece of history. Tours take about an hour, but you can drop in or out of them at any time. I visited specifically to write a paper about it for a class with prior knowledge of the statuary and symbolic architectural meaning, but the guides to a fair job of making the "boring" facts seem fun and entertaining while also educational. Would love to go back some day on a private tour to see the choir and other areas not open to general public.

A great place to visit. We are lucky to have this treasure, it had fallen into a poor state and was restored apparently just in time before it fell to ruins. The building is beautiful and quite impressive inside and out. The art restoration people did a superb job inside. It is quite a treasure now, while remaining an active church with an attached school. The guided tours are free and excellent. The vendors in front sell Indian fry bread, and we were happy to be able to sample some.

This is a great place to stop by and enjoy a walk. Very peaceful and relaxing. We went in the morning, before it got to hot. Went up the hill and all around the mission.

Very cool place to visit. The architecture and murals are very interesting. We visited during the week and it wasn't busy at all.

There are many artistic paintings and statues inside this beautiful historic church. Definitely will stop by here again next time if I'm going to Tucson, Arizona. Also tried the fried Indian bread sold outside this church by the locals, it tasted good.

This is truly a special place. You can actually imagine yourself stepping back in history. If you have an opportunity, attend mass and enjoy an assortment of flat breads offered by the locals afterward.

This is an authentic mission! NOT A TOURIST TRAP. Holy water is available free. Containers are sold in gift shop or bring your own. It's in the middle of renevations. The inside awe inspiring. I was touched by the love and care given the building. Mass is still held on Sunday.

This is a beautifuI place to visit. It is being restored in historically correct techniques. gave this 3 stars because there aren't many pamphlets or plaques explaining the artistic or historical significance of this church.

Calm to the Day
Coming to this beautiful mission is a lesson in history and a lesson in perseverance. The carvings which in part have been ruined through the sad take of people who did not understand the value of beautiful architecture still add to the missions ambience. Constantly renovated, at this time the left hand side of the church is restored and the right is in process. No matter how you look at it from a few feet or quarter mile away it brings a feeling of calmness and quiet to the soul.response / report this review -

Its like coming home each time I visit this mission. Just knowing the original building was built in 1692 brings so much meaning to this historic site. Everyone who is involved with the church is kind and friendly. One of my favorite parts is purchasing lunch of fry bread, beans and cheese! Take a moment and visit with the tribe members who are learning to keep the mission's interiors in repair. I learn something new each time I visit!
