Overall great school! Some silly rules, but that’s high school. Most teachers genuinely care about their students and I felt I was well prepared for college upon graduation. If I was in the west valley, I would absolutely enroll my daughter here when the time comes.
This high school has been a blessing. Teachers are responsive and caring, Cathy (front office secretary) goes above and beyond to help, and the entire staff really cares about kids. I am so glad that we live in this school's boundaries. I highly recommend this school!
The high school version of fruit cake. Came here expecting a good time for me and my kids but there aren’t any rides, the food is overpriced, and the gift shop is tiny and only sells books. No season passes for sale. The characters are scary and kept telling me to put my cell phone away. Waited in line for 2 hour for some ride called “overdrive” and the ride never showed up. People kept telling us to be quiet and do “work.” Unacceptable. Saving my money and going to Sea World next time.
This school has low consideration for it's students and their guardians. 2 hours after school for being on your phone? The students don't even get transportation, so they have to either walk home or call their parents who in most cases would have work; nonetheless, this school has students who can't actually use their school computers without it saying you can't go on a site, even when the site is where you need to go to complete your work! It especially is bad when students are getting two hour detentions after they are done with class/taking out their phones after the bell rings and getting an Overdrive(After school Detention). They wonder why it has a 7/10 now when last year it was higher. I can't possibly imagine why this school is not lower rated.
The worst school in the agua fria union high school district, i don't reccommend it.
So far this is a good school, and I am liking it. I would recommend this school even though this school does have a few flaws such as having an extremely expensive launch for just a Ice Tea, a chicken sandwich, and tater tots. Anyways good school so far I would recommend.
Millennium for me was great. All four years were excellent. I had an awesome advisory with a teacher that cared, as well as great guidance counselors that helped me not just with my classes. There are some people that suck, yes. But the thing is, you aren't there for them you're there for you. And if anyone is bothering you, please speak to a guidance counselor. I recommend Ms. Thomas. Overall excellent experience.
Horrible school
So many stuck up kids full with pride for acting like fools and putting people down. I advise to go with another school if possible if you expect your child to succeed academically and not get cought up with the idiots accompanying that school.Alot of classes are full of teachers who are not suitable for teaching or will demotivate your child along with the students who will. The school dwells with teens who bully and are a bad example for not caring about people's feelings or themselves because they waist there time listening to lil pump or whatever next trash rapper and looking at their Snapchat streaks or Instagram page, having sex, selling drugs, taking drugs.
If your child is a actual human being please don't let them turn into a selfish, truculent animal by surrounding them with absolute morons.
THIS SCHOOL DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR STUDENTS. ITS NO WONDER WHY SOMEONE THREATENED THE SCHOOL WHEN THEY SHOW NO RESPECT TO THE STUDENTS. I AM A PARENT AND HAVE SO MANY ISSUES ALL THE TIME. THEY ARE UNDERSTAFFED TO THE POINT THAT THEY DONT ANSWER PHONES AND NO RETURN CALLS. IF YOU HAVE AN ISSUE THE JUST SAY IF YOU DONT LIKE IT THEN YOUR CHILD IS MORE THAN WELCOME TO DROP OUT MAAM. ITS A JOKE.
They are very strict on rules but the school is nice
If I could rate this school a zero out of five or below, I would. Do not send your kids to this school if you are looking to have them pursue quality education. To narrate my experience, I've never had any complications regarding my academic capabilities or my mental and physical well-being, prior to attending Millennium High School. The system is so disorganized to the point that my counselor that I was comfortable with voicing my concerns to was switched to another behind my back, but not completely (this means that I now have two counselors that will randomly deny or accept a meeting with me). Additionally, these two counselors highly contrast with one another as the first was very understanding, while the other was impatient and rude, denying me any help with my senior year and fitting the requisite of government into my schedule full of IB courses. With regards to grades, a mistake was made to one of my final semester grades that was resolved; however, once that grade was fixed, a grade from another class that was correct suddenly switched to a letter grade lower without notice. In reference to my courses, it seems as though the school rushes to find replacements, so in that aspect, there are quite a few teachers that are not fit to teach the selected courses they were hired to teach. An example of this would be for IB chemistry. The first teacher was experienced in instruction of Advanced Placement chemistry, honors chemistry, and IB chemistry. After he had left, the school hired someone straight out of college, who never taught IB or taught period, and majored in BIOLOGY. Since the teacher has never taught IB, absence has been a regular occurrence to attend conferences and workshops or to rest because the rigor of teaching an IB class is overwhelming. We need someone to guide us towards succeeding in exams, and in some aspects, this teacher is quite unprepared in many ways. Not only that, but the environment and the atmosphere some of the staff (not teachers) produce exudes hostility and impatience, as if they do not work to help students and families but work because they were forced against their will and everyone is an inconvenience. A friend of mine had an information/permission slip propelled at her by one of the front desk ladies just because she was wondering how to sign up for a college assembly. This is no way to promote a healthy and safe environment for secondary education. There are many other faults that this school possesses, but this review has gotten too lengthy.
In all my child's years of education have I ever came across a more disorganized and disrespectful school.
When I set out to enroll my child, it was virtually impossible due to their summer hours and no one was willing to assist.
During the short time that my child was enrolled, there was nothing but problems.
I met with a substitute teacher due to him being "accused" by my son of getting in his face. I met with him with an open mind and this so called educator, literally began yelling at me as if I were a child. At that point I knew that my som was telling the truth. Not sure what was done to him but he is no longer there.
Second incident was a teacher making my son sit on THE FLOOR next to her desk like a dog because he walked on some signage which is against the "tradition" not rule of the school. All emails were ignored by Adminiatrators. She finally answered me back to set an appointment but the day of called off and never returned to the school due to "health issues."
Third, I got an email concerning my son's lack of motivation. I responded by telling the teacher that his lack of motivation is a result of being told at the beginning that the class in which he was in was a review of 8th grade and his refusal to assist my son when he asks questions by stating that he "should already know it" in a sarcastic tone. This teacher responded by saying that my son "needs to learn how to deal with sarcastic people." We literally went back and forth over 5 times with my main question being "what do you recommend for my son to do to succeed in your class?" Never a response to this question to date Subconsquently, my son got his very first F. Additionally, this same teacher lied on the Principal stating that I conversation with him about my son's "past behavior issues" in which 1 he never had any behavior issues and 2 the conversation never occurred which was confirmed by the principal. A blatant lie.
Fourth, it was virtually impossible to get a counselor to assist. My son was told to make an an appointment which is fine BUT I suppose IF he were suicidal at any point, he'd be dead by now.
Lastly, this school posts when they are open and closed but looks at you as if you're disturbing them when you walk in. The "office hours" don't include registration or enrollment. The secretaries in the main office are condesending and rude.
DON'T DO IT!
