Jessie, our waitress, was one of the best servers I've encountered in awhile. Impressive oysters for being this far inland and great ribs. Wide variety available here too.

Always a lovely experience! We come every Easter knowing there will be a wait. The management and staff are always endearing and genuine. I appreciate the extra touches like the fresh baked amazing crock of FOUR different breads, their fresh made speciality butter, and even the peppermint ice cream to cleanse your palet. The atmosphere is one of kind and always fun. The only thing different I'd like to see is a changing table in the bathroom. That was challenging in a very crowded restaurant on a holiday and lots of little children. I get that it's an awesome old building (which I LOVE), but there must be some solution? Regardless, go to Mill Street and enjoy! Have a Bloody Mary, they're delicious!

The food was great. I had the half rack of St Louis ribs, and they were some of the best I've had. They were flavored and cooked perfectly. There were other comments at our table about the prime rib being the best they ever had as well. Anthony, our waiter, made the whole experience better with his great service. If you're in the area, check this place out.

"American fare in a flour mill". Basically this is a cracker barrel but in a town centre rather than a highway rest stop. Average age is 75, decor is as old as the clientele, food is designed to cater for those raised on mashes potato and gravy. That said, if you like mashed potato and gravy then this place delivers. Go looking for Google top rated restaurants in a small town and you will get what the locals think is a good restaurant. It's fine but great it is not.

Love the atmosphere, the food was good as was the service. They give you peppermint ice cream after your meal to cleanse your palette. They have a great variety of food for everyone. Even vegan.

Very loud. Arrived at 11am when they opened. Took 49 minutes to get food. $75 for 2 steaks. We both ordered baked potatoes. Only got a half a potato each because they were out! Really? Wife's steak was, well lets just say I have gotten better at waffle house! Staff needs to look more professional! You don't work at a gym. Salad was good. Lemonade was great. Place needs a good cleaning. Look around the tables. We were one of the first ones seated. Dirty. Look at the air vents, clean them! When we arrived the kitchen staff was off to the left smoking. 10:47 am. Tee shirts and shorts. Now that looks professional! Our experience was not the best and will a long time before we visit again. Just expected more from a restaurant that charges $75 for 2 meals and we can eat at Applebees 3 times for that and its clean and better food!

I have always had good experiences at Mill Street. Last Saturday, as my fiance and I decided to go out on a nice dinner, the experience was awful. First of all, we are not 21 yet, we were seated at the only booth in the bar area. It took about 20 minutes to even get water, and another 40 for our food. As we are trying to enjoy a nice dinner, we have loud drunks surrounding our table. They were so loud that we couldn't even hear each other speak. Not once did our waiter come back to check on us or ask if we wanted a different table as the crowd began to overrun our table. Once we received our food, it was cold, and not once did we get a refill. Needless to say, if I want a nice, EXPENSIVE dinner, I'll go somewhere else next time.

After spending about four hours exploring the Camera Heritage Museum we found our way to the Mill Street Grill. The portions were more than enough and were quite tasty. Billy was our server and he was excellent. The menu is pretty lengthy so most folks should be able to find something to their liking. The fresh bread and homemade butter were a nice touch to our dinner experience. The ambiance was incredible as you are actually in an old mill. We would not hesitate to visit here again when we are in the area.

My wife and I went on Labor Day weekend! Despite the huge crowd, they were able to seat us very quickly. The service was PHENOMENAL- it was quick, friendly, and our waiter really went the extra mile consistently. The St. Louis Ribs were incredible, and the best I've had in a long time. We'll definitely be back!

While on the road home passing by this little town we were hungry so I googled restaurants around the area and I found this awesome placeIt is a historical restaurant and parking was easy From the very very nice friendly receptionist who accommodate and took care of us finding the right table we are looking for and to the Awesome server (his name is Billy) and even the food everything is Super Awesome. They serve the food so fresh that i ended up having another round of to go Their desert is super awesome The price is fair and worth it and even the toilet is Super CleanI highly recommend this place and don't miss one half of your life to come here whenever you're in town. I will definitely come back in this Super Awesome place

What a great local place for a really good meal that is reasonable. Excellent service. Much better option than Red Lobster or Applebee's.

This is my absolute favorite restaurant. It's worth the drive from Charlottesville. The food is amazing. I always look forward to finding out which flavor of butter they will have. The complimentary ice cream at the end is also a very nice touch.

We go on special occasions and when we have guests visiting and so far everyone has been extremely impressed.

On vacation. We like to eat at local places rather than chains. Anthony brought beautiful bread bowl with raspberry butter that was really good. Hubby had baby back and St Louis ribs that were fall the bone. I had the Prosciutto and Provolone stuffed chicken over angel hair. Both were fantastic and could only eat half. Ice cream at the end was a nice touch.

Just driving through town and thought we would give this place a shot. First off, even during the middle of the week at 6PM, this place is hopping! Nice little waiting area, clean restrooms, friendly staff, nice atmosphere. First thing I noticed were the lovely stained glass windows which depict the story of how bread is made. Anyhow, the kids were entertained with crayons and an activity sheet which made me happy. The bread that comes out to every table was soft and fluffy with an excellent flavored butter to boot. The menu was enormous with many delicious sounding items to choose from. I ordered a combo plate of ribs, baby back and St Louis style. The baby back were incredible! Some of the best ribs I have ever had. My wife had a pasta dish which was super good / filling. When we declined dessert (because we were full), they brought out little dishes of ice cream for all. Wish we lived closer, because we could go to this place once a week.
