Description

We are an historic, old-time, small family farm 12 miles northwest of Bangor, Maine, in the town of Levant, comprised of all natural milk, beef, pork, hay and wood harvesting operations; also, selling firewood, loam and aged, composted cow manure and providing professional agricultural and garden and consultation services. (NOTE: our products are not certified organic but all-natural and we use certifiably organic practices when possible).

Our farm is breathtaking at several hundred contiguous acres of valley, pasture, hayland, and forest, with 100 head of dairy and beef cattle, having been operational and in our family circa 1837.

Brian Call, owner and operator, commercially milked cows for almost 30 years, and currently raises dairy and beef replacement cattle, malt-fed hamburger, beef, and pork (all very delicious!), hay, and logs a variety of wood for multiple uses.

His wife, Joan Gibson, is an agronomist, former USDA employee, and organic vegetable farmer. She offers barn rental venues on the farm for events, such as weddings and family reunions (non-alcoholic functions only).

Joan also makes and sells home batches of her all-natural ""edible" lotion, Northern Comfort Bee'z Butter Wrinkle-Chaser cream, a wonderfully hydrating and soothing face cream at $12 for a two ounce jar.

We offer specifically:

state-inspected malt-fed 10, 25, 50 and 100 pound hamburger, beef and pork boxes (10 pound boxes are hamburger only with no mixed cuts included), organic vegetables, and for the homesteader, milking cows, beef steers, breeding cattle, calves and oxen teams, and very fertile loam, rich aged cow manure, all natural and certifiable cedar fence posts and logs, and economy firewood sustainably harvested.

We also sell hay as animal fodder and marsh hay for landscaping. And, offer one of our barns on our property for event venues, as mentioned above, in addition to providing professional agricultural and garden consultation and garden weeding services.

As you can see, we are committed to preserving Maine's small heritage family farms by producing delicious, nutritional, safe, and fresh malt-fed beef and pork, organic vegetables, hay and wood products for our community, sustainably produced and reasonably priced.

We feel there should be a local option for consumer goods which allows stronger local economies, autonomy and the existence of working family farms. We exist because of your support.
