Not your typical flat Florida landscape. Lost of elevation changes. Awesome springs in the bottom of the ravine which run into Little Lake Johnson. There they have rustic rental cabins which alone are amazing, but also have other structures on site that shoe the craftsmanship of the boys of the CCC in the mid 30's. Would recommend for families with children. Lots of hiking and viewing pleasures.
Very beautiful. Has a Florida Trail trailhead. Rode my bike through the park. Will definitely be back
Lovely, quiet park with spacious RV sites. We stayed in the Sandhill loop which was more quiet and less crowded. Excellent star qazing! Park is well maintained. The only down side is the lack of interesting sites nearby, restaurants, etc. Closest interests is in St. Augustine.
very relaxing very clean. Super staff and guest friendly. Would be nice if they had wheelchairs to use. Maybe if people have spare ones they should think of our state and national parks and donate them for day guests.😃
Went on a couple hikes and they have hills. Florida is pretty flat so that was nice. Some of the camp sites are tight but overall nice. You're not suppose to burn wood found around the camp so bring your own (they may sell it). They also have water/electric at each site and good cell service.
Great campsite, but lots of biting bugs. Most of our party went home with what looked like flea bites. Not sure what can be done about that. We still had fun.
Lovely park! Florida Trail runs through it. Lakes, trails, cabins RV and tent camping. We will be back
This place is beautiful! Plenty to do too. The cabins are awesome and lakes are too! Love it!
Been camping and having parties here for years. Love it!! You have a lake to swim and fish in and plenty of trails to hike. The pavilions are inexpensive to rent and you get to keep them all day.
We really enjoy coming out here. The park is really nice, the trails are greatbathrooms are kept up to par! We love having a picnic/grill area by the park so the kids can play and we can still see them while we are cooking! The swimming area is nice and the beach area is clean. We love riding bikes throughout the park and even love camping here! And it is a great family environment!
This place is HUGE! One of the best local state parks that my family and I have visited. The ravine over look and ravine stairway is a must see. The stairway leads you down into 2 different paths for your family to explore. Our favorite is the fern pathway. I aslo like that throughout the park there are little info plates that tell you about all the different trees, plants, bugs, animals. There were even info plates that tell you how the forest preserves and protects its!! We re planning to rent one of their large cabins for Fathers day! Cant wait to introduce other family memebers to the magical local paradise!
We used one of the cabins built in the 30s and LOVED it! Great AC, full kitchen, a nice bed and a small futon and we always felt safe. We had a nice view of what was left of the water and the hiking was well marked and wonderful. Bring water and repellant! A swimming hole is available and a fishing area too so bring your pole. We WILL be back!
Love this place! We stayed for a few nights while we were taking a break off working on the boat. Very scenic with their ravines and awesome trails to hike. There are lots of gray squirrels and birds to enjoy. Tortoise homes are all around but have yet to see one. Hopefully before we leave tmrw!
Our first time going to this park and we were stunned. We loved it. So well kept. The 4 person cabin is lovely, spacious and clean. Lots of storage and you get a full size kitchen with table, one double bed and a futon. The porch is so nice with chairs to enjoy the sunsets. The staff very pleasant and cordial. The beach very clean and the lakes are just too pretty for words. We are definitely coming back. We wish we could give it more stars. We really recommend to visit this gem!
