We had the teppanyaki. There were three of us and we were the only ones at the table. The chef was great and my salmon was cooked perfectly.
Our server was a rare sight and our water glasses were often empty. I requested a side of teriyaki sauce that went unfilled.
We were also surprised to find an 18 percent gratuity added to the bill. I understand large tables having this added. The bill stated parties of 6 or more and teppanyaki customers would have the tip added Nowhere on the menu did I see this and if it was there it was small.
I like to decide what to tip and you have to be pretty awful to get me below 15 percent. I found this mandatory tip off putting and I don't believe I will return.
Our tepanyaki chef was Justin and he was amazing! I don't like mushrooms but the ones he prepared were delicious. Very delicious dinner and great servers, we highly recommend Mikado.
Ordered the pork ramen which was delicious! But $11 delicious? Nah. Wanted sushi til I saw how overpriced each roll was. Might as well pay for all you can eat at that price point. I highly recommend Tony's in Layton if you want sushi. Service was great for our experience, as opposed to other reviews
The food was great! The service and ambiance was below the expectations. But I will still give 4 stars because the food was really fresh and well prepared
The food is fresh and of good quality, but the prices are far too expensive. They are higher than Tona in Ogden, who has one best of state year after year with their amazing sushi. Again, Mikado has good food, but you could get more for your money elsewhere.
This is a very great sushi restaurant. It also has tepanyaki which I have yet to try. The rolls were all very large (around 8-10 pieces) and they were very tasty. We had the UTO roll which has pop rocks on it. There are some interesting rolls that were very fun to try. We will definitely be coming back here!
Food is good. Nice environment. The price is high for the amount and quality of the food.
Salads were different from any other tepanyaki places we have been too, and loved it! Food was great and prices were similar to other tepanyaki places around.
Sub Par Fish for a decent price. If you want good sushi, go here. If you want great sushi, better drive on by to the next sushi stop in Salt Lake City. Ordered a sushimi plate and half of it was nigiri. The waitress who initially came to take our order brushed us off for a 7 person table.your money is no good here if there are only two of you..
Very nice place to have Japanese food. Servers are helpful. Management is attentive. Sushi is very good. Prices are reasonable. Atmosphere is very nice.
Great sushi place. I just wish they had garlic Edamame. Other than that I had a great experience. Price was okay food was really good. Would definitely come back!
Some of the best sushi I've ever had. Very friendly, prompt service. Went here on a whim and was very pleasantly surprised.
Nothing terrible to say but it isn't amazing either. The sushi was good and seemed fresh, and the ramen I got was acceptable. The atmosphere is nice and the service is prompt, the issue I have is they charge some pretty premium prices. There are sushi places and a ramen house a short drive away that cost quite a bit less and have amazing food. If the prices came down a bit or the quality went up it would be a five star.
I would have given Mikado a Maximum 3 star. The service is average, I felt as though I were in a Denny's (not the sushi bar atmosphere). The food was good, not great, but good. I have to say that the sushi chefs do tend to over cook the tempura rolls. Honestly, I probably won't return. It's a safe bet if you're craving sushi, but the experience and food are not worth the price they charge.
The sushi rolls were amazing, and I'm very glad that we asked about additional rolls because they pulled out their secret menu, from which if you order 3 rolls you'll get a forth for free! The rolls are a bit expensive if you are wanting to load up on sushi, but they tasted amazing. It also takes quite a while for the rolls to come out, I'm not sure if that is their norm or not, it looked like they only had one chef preparing them, that may have been why.
