My cat Rupert is a problem child when it comes to the vet, but they have been very understanding of his temperament. Earlier this year, he had a terrifying near-death experience. We rushed him in to the office, and they cared for him right away, saving his life. They are very kind, caring, experienced, wonderful people. Rupert would not be alive today if it weren't for them. You can trust them with your animals' lives.

I've been here a few times now. The staff and docs are friendly and do care about your animals They are a rip off! Super expensive and I think some of the treatment options they recommend are just to profit off you. Do your own research and call other places. If the price doesn't sound reasonable, it probably isn't. Affordable vet care and Humane Society are good options in the area. I also recommend Salem Vet for upfront knowledgeable doctors.

Dr. Dhaliwal is amazing! He takes his time with making sure my animals get the best care as well he is always there for me with any questions I have! I also highly recommended him for ear crops! Not only does my puppy's ears look great , I felt that the whole surgery experience went super well, not once did I ever question if my pup was in pain!

I’ve been going here for two years out of convenience (preventative health measures for my dogs). This place is fine for that, though there are generally long wait times and you deal with moody staff. When my dog got really sick I realized this is not the best care facility. They recommended a series of high cost treatments which I went through with. My dog didn’t get better, and then I got a second opinion - a blood test determined a simple (an inexpensive) fix. The vet who did the second opinion could not believe the protocols that MAAH recommended. We won’t be going back. I will say the veterinarians are nice people and I don’t think this was malicious - perhaps they are just inexperienced.

Very happy with these people. Don't let the reception area, which is a bit dark, cold and plain scare you away. Their service more than makes up for it and brings my rating up to a full five stars. They are extremely helpful and are always trying to make it better/easier for you and your pet. I was impressed with that.
After the examination of your pet they quickly had a print out of what they would recommend needs to be done. They explained every item listed and let you choose what you want and don't want and DON"T pressure you either way (liked that too). They even suggest ways to save money, like how on your first visit if you fill out the simple online form ahead of time you save.
As a former business owner I was impressed with the efficiency and professionalism of the staff and Doctors with their can do attitude and getting right to it.
Special thanks to Dr Will for his care of my little girl cat..

Freind took her puppy in for gunshot hind foot. She couldn't afford the surgery or to euthanize. I gave them 2 stars because they did wrap it up. My friend called me for help I called for the price to euthanize and was quoted $200. I said that was crazy, and was told i had to pay for the previous bill for wrapping the mangled paw. We took the puppy to the 24 hr vet on Jackson rd west side of A2. They were very compassionate. This place couldn't care less about the animal just about the $.

I came here over a year ago after my new rescue dog seemed under the weather, couldn't tell how serious- his behavior when sick was still unfamiliar to me. He was taken to the closest vet in ypsi- which was our first mistake. The entire experience proved that they were trying to falsely diagnose my dog with an "extremely severe and rare spinal condition" that would require several surgeries and to pump him full of drugs. The doctor- "Dr.Will" (literally on his name tag, no last name presented, no way to search his credentials) guided me through their X-ray and told me all of these
Surgeries my dog would need or he would die. Literally said that out loud, mind you, my dog had been in his care for 2 hours. It was as if he was looking for this diagnosis and was excited he has an opportunity to push it on a patient. I told him I would feel more comfortable gettin a second opinion before concluding at this serious and expensive diagnosis and he snapped at me, essentially accusing me of not caring if my dog lives or
Dies- which is the most manipulative way to make a sale. Buy our pharmacuticuls or your dog will
Die and it will be your fault! He got several hundreds of dollars out of me using that scare tactic. I talked to humane society and another vet office to talk about what happened and what drugs they had put my dog on and the only response I got was "Take your dog off those immediately, they don't have enough information about your dog's condition to make that decision. Take them off the medicine as soon as possible or it can cause permanent damage". Upon a follow up appointment at a legitimate veterinarian, none of the hypothesis proposed by "dr.will" were correct, he misread the X-ray, pumped my dog with dangerous painkillers and sedatives and caused severe emotional stress on me and my animal. I will NEVER go back here and if you want proper
Emergency service for your animal, stay far away. It is truly evil and dangerous to abuse animal medical care to make a profit.

Excellent Hospital for pets but could be a little more upfront with costs. Dr. Will was very good with my baby! No cost is too great for the health of your family member but relying on social security only makes it difficult when looking for pet care. Ann Arbor hospitals start at $75 Michigan Ave Animal Hospital starts at 15 to $30 initial cost

Michigan Avenue Animal Hospital is a caring and professional facility. I have a 3 year old Wheaten/Poodle mix, Ripley (30+ lbs) and she comes regularly for wellness checks (tests, vaccinations, etc.) and emergency procedures (including an abdominal surgery). I have no complaints and appreciate their sensitivity and forthrightness. Michigan Ave Vet Techs are experienced and great with my dog and she has no fear of coming to the building. Ripley also gets groomed here and the groomer is great, she handles her with no problem, doesn't mind any fussiness by my dog about her paws and has no trouble keeping her calm. The groomer takes everything in stride.

Dr. Will has been great to us and our Yorkie Maltese. Yes, there is always a longer list of things recommended for your pet than what you expect going in (which does add up in terms of cost), but we've never felt pressured to do anything we didn't want to or tricked into getting something without knowing the cost. Dr. Will has always been very clear with us about the prices of the different vaccines and treatments. He answers our questions and is honest about what we should take care of now and what can be put off for awhile (for example, we were told our dog needs a dental exam "within the next couple years" but were not pressured into doing this expensive procedure ASAP). We've only been in for checkups and vaccines so far, and I have no complaints!

WlI would rate a 0 if it was an option. Worst experience ever!!! My 8 year old healthy dog went in for a surgery for a broken leg and never came home! The cheapest price isn't always the best. I wish I would've taken her elsewhere now. They wanted to keep her overnight so they could keep an eye on her, only to leave her alone and they claim she was dead when they came back in the morning. If I took her home, I'd at least have a he opportunity to take her to 24 hour vet care. I'd stay far far away. I paid 1/2 down when dropping her off and was required to pay the other half when picking her up. They actually had the audacity to ask me when I was going to pay the remaining balance when my dog was dead!!!!

My dog was recently diagnosed with seizure disorder and a stage 4 out of 6 heart murmur. With her health issues we needed a groomer that could perform life saving measures if needed.

Our visit was EXCELLENT! Warm friendly smiles greeted us. The doctor was kind and gentle. The groomer was top notch. Sasha looks beautiful! We've found our new groomer!

I love Michigan Avenue Animal Hospital! They have a great friendly atmosphere, and they put so much care into everything they do. I've been taking my very temperamental boy there for years and they're always great with him. When my other cat got sick they were incredibly kind to me while I was an emotional disaster in their office, and after the kitty passed they sent a card signed by all of the staff expressing their condolences. It meant so much to me, and was light at a dark time. Decent prices, but even when it's a little more I'd rather take my fur babies there than anywhere else.
