Amazing how a place with such a large and varied menu can be so consistently good. The portions are large, well spiced and always delicious. Wednesday steak night is not to be missed.

My favorite place to eat in East Hampton. The decor is charming, but dated, providing a nice change of pace from the other dining options in the area. The quality of food is high and the wine list is reasonable. I look forward to their steak night on Wednesdays. You have got to try it!

Just ate here last nite and it was amazing. We had the shrimp tempura and oysters as appetizers delicious! For dinner i had the rib eye with mashed potatoes and veggies which was cooked and seasoned perfectly. I highly recommend this restaurant.

The service was great. The food was excellent.. Shrimp Scampi, 10 large shrimp excellent sauce. Clams on the half she'll served on ice. We have been there many times, always come home satisfied. Prix fixe worth every penny and more!

A very unexpected surprise with great quality food and ambiance. We were looking for a place to have some dinner and called this place and they were still open. When we got there it was a very nice surprise to see so many people there and the place has a very nice design. The service was very prompt and the food outstanding. We highly recommend the cod Atlantic fish and the mushroom ravioli if you happen to go there.

My wife and I have eaten here 3 times so far and we both feel we would rather eat here than at any other restaurant in East Hampton. The decor is simple and unadorned. The atmosphere is very friendly and uncomplicated, reminding me of the wonderful roadside French bistros I used to eat in at an earlier time in my life, but with an American sensibility. The food is inventive (for instance, the chef makes his own mouthwatering Hoisin sauce) and of excellent quality. The serving size for most of the entrees as well as the appetizers are absolutely enormous but are prepared, cooked, and plated accordingly. Two people can share a single dinner and neither walk away hungry.

I have been a regular customer here for as long as the current owner has been there and before, 6 years and 8 respectively. I am even more regular at the bar for dinner and drinks.

"Owners should know where they belong in their establishment. This owner thinks it is behind the bar, when his specialty is as a chef. He thinks he can leave the bar to supervise the kitchen and help on the floor. His customers at the bar now wait 10 minutes, or more to get a drink or their check. I love the place and hope he suceeds but with this kind of service, I doubt it."

My point, it is impossible for the food to remain high quality when the chef is behind the bar.

Here is an honest review of my most recent meals.
I brought an out of town friend for dinner in March. We both ordered Prime Rib. It was mostly grissel and fat, barely edible. We were both very disapponted. The same evening he tried to over charge us for a cognac. He said he served us Cordon Bleu, when he doesn't even have it behind the bar.
In May I had a Rib Eye, which was tasteless.
In June I ordered Fried Chicken, which used to be amazing. The center was cold (probably frozen and store bought) and what used to be a breading to die for, is now soggy, greasy and without taste.
In July I had a cod fish sandwich which was soggy, fishy and tasteless.
You may ask why I return. Because I cannot believe how bad the quality has become, after years of excellence. And I have many friends who used to socialize. We are all now gravitating elsewhere. For me, I will never eat here again.
