I would rather die on the cold, filthy pavement than EVER step foot into this place again. While the nurses are AMAZING beyond words, the doctors are seriously of questionable nature.
Dr. Emily M. Simpson whose specialty is infectious disease, is no more than an immature valley girl. She tsked in disgust and stated “I hate feet” and then went on to describe how “grossed out” she was and how nasty my injury was. Who the h*ll does that? Not a professional, that’s for sure.
Then there were the doctors in Wound Care. Dr. Dahman is a rude and condescending jerk. He knew nothing about me, didn’t read my chart and came full throttle at me with all sorts of negative statements and accusations. Another wound care doctor told me, “stay off your feet, quit your job.” Like that was a frigging option??? What sort of delusional idiot says that to someone? Only one was ever decent to me and even he ended up sending me to a butcher (“a good friend” he called him) who botched my surgery and as a result, I now have PTSD.
Also, the ER doctor that first saw me for the injury that started this all, told me I couldn’t afford wound care, gave me ointment, gauze and sent me home.
I would go to Christ, UC or practically ANY other medical facility.

This hospital is no better than a band aid station. I'm not pleased with the care I received and wouldn't go back even if my life depended on it.
I went there for an ankle injury. The nurses that were caring for me never gave me their name, I had to ask where they put me so that my dad could meet me in my room. They came and took x-rays but I never saw them, I had a charge nurse (whos name was never given to me) tell me that i had a fracture and that was it. I spent a total of about 3 hours there and in those 3 hours I was presented with one person after another that was rude and didn't know how to do their job. Communication between staff was poor and there was obviously some type of outside tension amongst professionals.

This is only receiving 2 stars for cleanliness of the hospital and the care that I received from the EMTs that took me there.

I had my son here in 2014 and had a wonderful experience. I just delivered my second child there this past weekend and my experience was not pleasant. I would rate the actual labor and delivery experience with 4 or 5 stars. The staff was excellent and took wonderful care of me during labor. Once I was moved to the recovery room, our experience went downhill. I was placed in a room that had bed bugs and it almost seemed like they put the blame on us. Once I informed the staff of the problem, we were moved to a labor and delivery room because the recovery rooms were full. The nurses that cared for me were very kind and helpful. Dawna was great and so helpful. She tried to move the discharge process along for me since we didn't feel comfortable staying there any longer. When we were moved to the labor and delivery room, it seemed like we were forgotten about. We were hardly checked on, our trash was not removed, etc. All because of a problem that was not our fault. I did not feel comfortable recovering, I had no sleep at all after delivering my daughter, we had to throw away all of our clothes and belongings that we brought to the hospital, in fear that we'd take bed bugs home with us. Some of the stuff we threw away was just purchased for the baby! Brand new and ruined because we were placed in a room that had not been properly cleaned and kept up. I understand that things happen, but the staff should have known if a room had bugs. The housekeeping staff must have not been doing their job properly. I am very upset with my experience and the belongings we lost due to this incident.

Mercy is a terrible place to take your loved one!! We brought a family member here for head trauma and he was diagnosed with hemorrhage in the brain!!!! Transferred him to UC for treatment and that was incorrect. Only natural causes calcium overgrowth of his skull. Not hemorrhaging!!!! This place is horrific—stay away

Was brought into Fairfield Mercy via the emergency...was treated in an efficient, professional and yet caring manner. Nurse Beth was on top of my symptoms immediately. Sent to get various tests and then whisked into pre-surgery where Beth (nurse) took over and also did amazing job. ICU nurses were awesome...Tamara, Paige, Martha, Sue and Rebecca. Can not say enough good things about your hospital...everyone was encouraging and supportive

Honestly the worst experience at a hospital ever. I came in on Saturday morning after having sever neck shoulder and back pain for three days and not being able to move or do my job. I laid in the bed about an hour before someone got to me. Then the first doctor barely tapped on my shoulder and was said " okay I don't think it's meningitis" and walked out. Then a nurse came in took my urine sample and gave me some medicine. About an hour later a different doctor came in and told me to stretch more and use a heating pad then left. About 15 mins. later a nurse came in with discharge papers and asked if I was feeling better. I said " No I feel exactly the same" and I asked her about result from my urine test and she said " Well there was blood in your urine so it's either your period or your kidneys but we will have to wait and see" I am absolutely appalled that I sat in there for about two hours and paid $250 copay for them to tell me I had neck pain, which was my "official" diagnosis. They said we they wouldn't do any scans or testing unless it got worse. So since they didn't give me any results at the ER I am now trying to log into My Chart online to see the results from the urine sample and I can not set up my account because it is not accepting my social. I called the number on the sheet ant they verified that the hospital mis typed my social and to call them. I called them and they sent me back to the my chart number... I called the hospital back and she transferred me to someone where a guy answered. I said hello and explained that I was transferred and he said in a nasty tone "who sent you here??" I said I don't know then was transferred again and explained to that woman what was going on and was told that she couldn't help me and the people who could wouldn't be in until Monday. She said a nurse might be able to access something so she transferred me to a nurse. I explained to that nurse what was going on and he said he didn't know how to do that and transferred me to someone else. By that time I finally realized that literally no on in this entire hospital has any kind of concern for others and hung up. I am in serious pain still and have been since Thursday and it's now Sunday. My job is a very physical job and one that I don't get paid unless I'm there and haven't been able to work since Thursday. These doctors and nurses have completely disregarded any of those facts and neglected to do their job thoroughly and hopefully I don't end up getting worse because of something they just didn't have time or care to test for. I can honestly say that I am disgusted by everyone there and am baffled that they get paid as much as they do by how little knowledge and concern they show for others.

In April 2015, I had an unanticipated ambulance ride to Mercy for abdominal pain. I arrived and was promptly attended to and given a CT Scan within the hour. Revealed a ruptured small intestine which required immediate surgery. By now it was late in the evening. I met the nurses and surgeon who were professional and helped my panic (I have never been to a hospital or surgery before). My surgery started at midnight. I spent five days in recovery. The nursing staff was excellent, particularly the middle of the night nurse who was gentle, kind, and understanding. I felt vulnerable and fragile yet never alone.

The private room was also so nice. My favorite feature was the television station with slow moving pictures of nature. It is how I got through the first painful night. Genius idea to have that for patients in recovery.

My friends visited and had comfortable places to sit.

I felt cared for in every way. Clean facility, good lighting, comfortable beds, kind staff, quality surgeon.

They treated my mother (heart attack) very well, but when I was first offered and THEN refused communion because I stated I was Christian, instead of "Catholic", I felt shunned, hurt, and terribly disappointed. What kind of a spiritual worker/employee of Mercy South refuses to acknowledge your love of GOD in a time of need and also on Good Friday! The spiritual staff at Mercy South should be ashamed for hurting a fellow human being who loves GOD.

Went in to the Emergency Room on Thanksgiving day due to a severe illness. Dr. Coomes was very polite and explained everything in a way I could understand, seeing as I do not have much medical knowledge. John (RN) was super courteous and easy-going. Made small talk and made it easier to consume the foul-tasting medication I desperately needed. Easily one of the most personable nurses I've ever met.

Thank you again for your service and commitment to serving your community.
