Dr Isaacs is great but his office is managed so poorly. Every time I'm here I wait for over an hour in the waiting room, WITH an appointment! It's insane, especially when you need to get back to work.

I walked inhere unannounced with a deep cut in my leg that was bleeding uncontrollably. The receptionist would do nothing but repeat "Sorry sir, you have to go somewhere else." since apparently wounds are not treated by this medical provider. She gave me two bandaids and a small thing of gauze and sent me back out onto the street. (Thanks, I guess?)

I ended up losing a lot of blood commuting to another provider that would take my insurance, but ultimately received several stitches. When I told this doctor about how I was turned away at Mercer Street Medical, they were amazed.

PS: From the front page of Mercer Street Medical's website: "Visits to Mercer Street Medical are by appointment, but we endeavor ALWAYS to accomodate same-day appointments, and never turn away urgent visits presenting to our office for care."

I've never seen Dr Isaacs, although I made 3 appointments to see him. For the first two, I was re-directed to his physician's assistant with no prior warning.

For the third, I was cancelled on at the last minute. I did not find this out until I arrived for the actual appointment. The secretary told me she had left a message at my voicemail at work; which was true. She left the msg 15 minutes before my appt. When I had already left to go there. Idiot.

Dr Isaac's assistant is completely clueless. When she saw me (after an hour long wait) I had a cut that was infected and she had no idea how to treat it. She looked at it for 5 minutes, then recommended I go to an expensive specialist. (Which they looked for in a yellow pages. It made me feel very safe). The specialist told me that any idiot doctor could have figured out my problem in the first place.

Oh, and the staff is rude. And I got CHARGED for this visit even though the doctor did NOT see me. Obviously I was not the happiest person when I was forking over money for this, but I restrained myself from actually SAYING anything. The bitch receptionist says "You don't have to get all huffy."

    Screw you.

Oh and the decor is tacky.
