Relaxing stay, friendly helpful staff, clean bathrooms and just enough places to check out around the park.

I know they're still recovering from hurricane Nate but they should tell you at the gate that even though the fishing pier is closed that you can't fish at the boat launch. The attendants don't seem to care too much what goes on after dark. They never even make rounds. We had to listen to some lady and I use that term loosely telling someone to shut the f___ up. Some guy came in and just sat in his car all night. Made us a little nervous. Got up around 6 this morning and went to the one and only bath house only to find no toilet paper in the men's room. I don't know about any other time but right now if you can camp anywhere else you probably should.

I arrived there to escape hurricane Irma. I rate the park a 1 basing on other state parks in general. It's small, filled with snakes and alligators. And the insects are out of control including sugar ants who kill birds and dogs. They warn to spray your RV for them.
They also knowingly allowed a homeless man who has gotten kicked out of every other park to stay there and was sexually vulgar, whistled, sung and blasted music. Then 2 campers arrived who smoke crystal myth and got myself and my dog a contact high. I left immediately and they have not refunded me and left me a message to never return because I called the police.

My husband and I have been here since Sunday,, it has been a wonderful play to relax , take walks out on the boardwalk and sit for awhile ,,just soak up the beauty of the park. We have a trailer so we don't use the bath house, but the campsites are nice big sites well kept, and the staff are the greatest. They were very helpful when we had an issue where we needed to use a ladder, very friendly. Fellow campers are quite but friendly. I can truely say one of my best campground experiences. I highly recommend this campground if u like a quite place to relax. Great restaurants near by,, I recommend Felix fish camp , prices good food great, Mexican restaurant also very good food. The only reason for a 4 instead of 5 rating is the ants r a problem, so be prepared to spray r you will be covered , even if you spray you will still have some trouble, but still would stay again.

When things stop and start touching the ground, PUT YOUR ANT DEFENSE DOWN! The views and the park are simply beautiful. The pier and nature board walk are really good to view the sunsets, dinosaurs, and jumping mullet. There are tons of access to fishing. Each spot is pretty level, most have a grill, picnic table, but no fire ring. If you have your own fire ring and there isn't a burn ban; your free to burn your own. The staff are Southern friendly and are attentive to your needs. There is some road noise, but just put a fan, or something on and that will cure that. This isn't a resort, it's a simple place, so relax. Food stores, shopping, resturants, USS Alabama, and historic downtown Mobile are just minutes away. Great little gem in the middle of everything, or on the way to wherever.

The park is beautiful, restroom and shower are well kept. The grounds are well kept. Stayed a week. Not really a campground for kids. Mostly retires without children. Just not really for children.

My husband and I had a two night stay at the park in our RV. Fabulous park, great and easy check in - the sites were all well maintained. Other campers were very friendly. Definitely going back to this state park to stay. The park has a boat launch, a really nice fishing pier. Just overall a wonderful experience.
