Chief Carline on the CLICC: On April 18, 2019 I had the honor of speaking in front of the Community Leadership Institute of Cape Cod and the Islands along with Barnstable District Court judge Edward Lynch, Cape and Islands District Attorney Michael O’Keefe and Barnstable County Sheriff James Cummings for their legal session held at the Barnstable County Correctional Facility. The Community Leadership Institute of Cape Cod has been in existence since 1992 with over 600 gradu...ates and has learned about leadership from prominent community leaders in business, healthcare, the arts, education, social services and more. Their mission is to foster the growth of existing and potential leaders on Cape Cod and the islands. I was extremely impressed with the program and the individuals who made up this class. The group was engaging and thoughtful adding intellectual topics, questions and comments to the panel. It is very clear that this group takes pride in their leadership and respective communities facilitating alumni, participants and others to solve community problems. I want to thank the entire class and their leaders for inviting me to be a member of this panel and I wish them well as they work their way toward graduation on June 13, 2019.
Professionally,
Scott W. Carline Chief of Police
See MoreGreat work by all involved!
Earlier today, Detective Calhoun and Officer Catanese met with members of the community at the Senior Center to speak about the overview of the police department, daily operations and common issues we encounter.
We are always looking for new ways to engage with our community, provide information about our services, and to become educated about the problems our citizens are observing.
Thank you to the Mashpee Council on Aging and it’s staff for providing us this opportunity to engage with our community members.
This week is National Public Safety Telecommunications Week. We would like to thank our entire Dispatch Unit for the great job they do for our department!
Well put DENNIS PD!
Great information from Falmouth PD on a scam that involves a fraudulent telecommunications employee cold calling a resident and attempting to set up an appointment at the resident’s house. Please read the FTC link for further info, and as always share this link with your friends!
Detective Calhoun had the opportunity this week to read to his son’s class, who were engaging in superhero appreciation day! We appreciate the opportunities to engage with and be positive role models for the youth in our communities.
Our department’s thoughts are with Sean’s wife, family, friends and community workers as they reflect and remember. May we never forget his sacrifice. As his wife Dara mentioned, find a quiet way to show someone you care today!
As of 2017, 3,166 people were killed as a result of distracted driving crashes (source: NHITSA). Please refer to this image for helpful hints to avoid distracted driving, and parents please remember to talk to your young drivers about the dangers of texting and driving!
Congrats on a job well done by those detail officers in Brewster!
Terrible news out of Maine. Our thoughts and prayers are with the trooper's family, friends and co workers during this difficult time. Please remember to slow down and pull over whenever you see emergency lights!
Good morning! As the weather improves, so will the number of motorcycles on our roadways. Please remember to ‘Look Twice, save a life!’ while on the roads!
Please be advised!
A week ago, our department received a call from a citizen regarding a swan that was found in a roadway and unable to move. A responding officer was able to standby with the swan, and ACO Chicoine took control of the swan and transported it to the Cape Wildlife Center. After rehabilitation, ACO Chicoine was able to transport the swan back to Mashpee, where he released to the nearest freshwater location that he was found near, Johns Pond. Thank you ACO Chicoine and the Cape Wildlife Center for your great work!
