Great food as it often is. Wait was a little longer than usual, by no means too long in my opinion. Wait staff and manager apologized profusely without prompting, and took good care of us. Will definately be back.
My wife and I went here for dinner to celebrate our birthdays and had a wonderful experience! Lauren who waited on us was extremely knowledgeable about the food and very attentive. Can't wait to go back to get the firecracker shrimp it was soooo good😁
This place is not cheap in the slightest. But man, is their sushi delicious! They have a wide variety of sushi rolls (with some truly bizarre names) with all sorts of ingredients, as well as sashimi, etc. I really enjoyed all of the sushi rolls I tried, and their smoked salmon was particularly tasty.
I have to put a special plug in for their tea I have no clue what makes it so good, but it is AMAZING. I could drink it forever. I wanted to steal the teapot to take with me.
Anyway, it's pretty pricy, even if you're just going for lunch, but if you want to splurge on a meal, it's a fantastic place to do so.
Excellent sushi with some terrific vegetarian options as well. The Madagascar roll is great if you love fish and heat. The veg hibachi is the way to go if fish isn't your bag.
The lunch menu is lacking options compared to other sushi places. Their lunch combo is not really appealing since there are not that many choices in rolls.
The sushi was good though, but I couldn't find what I was looking for.
They also automatically add a 10% tip to the bill.
Fresh sushi and great options for those that want something cooked. Their hibachi grill and kama are some of my favorite.
Amazing sushi, large/unique selection, and great presentation! Definitely the best in the area by far. A+
Great place. Food was great. Very beautiful and creative take on sushi. The ceviche appetizer was excellent. Staff was very friendly. Highly recommend this place.
Maru is easily my favorite area sushi restaurant. A big selection of rolls, and everything tastes fresh and interesting. The ceviche is excellent. The house wines we usually order are good and reasonably priced. It's loud and small, but it doesn't detract from the experience. A few tables are available for the very short Michigan outdoor eating period.
Amazing food. Never been to a sushi place where they do omakase like they do. The rice is great and a lot of their rolls come with salads on the side. I love Maru sushi.
I tend to be a sushi snob. I was surprised at the quality of the sushi at Maru - very good. The staff is excellent. But be sure to make a reservation. It can be hard to get a seat if you just walk in.
One of our favorite places to eat. Always friendly and accommodating staff, great feel, and excellent sushi. I love the 'Maru'velous roll and my wife loves the Soy Joy, but there are many unique rolls to discover.
We always have a great experience here! If you are new to sushi this is the best place to get it in town and worth every penny. Their fish tastes better and is fresher and their chefs are extremely good with the "omakase" or trust us style platters. The Jaws roll is a great and unique offering that easily feeds two and is great for people who are leery of raw fish, and so are the hibachi dinners.
