The staff on the floors are wonderful.. very caring .. very compassionate..
The ER is another story.. If you possibly can ..STAY with your loved one in the ER and don't take NO for an answer..

Competent staff and Health Care Professionals. Admitted after being transferred from Martin in PSL West on Sunday night. Discharged Wednesday.
Not all staff was overly pleasant but not to the point of rude.
Would recommend Tradition for admission if possible.
Food is so bland but not unexpected for a hospital.
    Great view though.

I came into the er on a Sunday day evening bc I fainted and hit my head. I am a healthy 52 year old woman. I have no complaints about the staff who were all nice, but about the services. I waited hours to see the ER doctor, who looked as if he hadn't slept in days. They did the standard CT scans etc.. then doc says he wants to admit me for 24 hour observation. My husband was concerned so I agreed. Well a bed never opened up so I spent the night in the ER. The overnight nurse schedules my mri for 615am. Then it gets pushed to 8. Still no visit from another doc. Gets pushed to 1pm, 3pm. Finally nurse tells me there's 1 MRI for the whole hospital and I am not an emergency patient so I am getting bumped again until 10pm. I am basically losing it at this point. Finally a doctor "hospitalist" comes to see me and tells me that they really want me to have the MRI etc. meanwhile my insurance is getting billed for housing me this long. So they move me upstairs to a real room at 530pm to wait for my 10pm MRI. Guess whatit gets bumped again. So I am staying another night. Currently am still here, it's 941am on 10/3/17. I am scheduled for 11am. If I get bumped again I will be leaving AMA. This is basically insurance fraud people. If they cannot give me what I need here, move me or have me get an outpatient MRI!

Just a heads up. Parking is NONEXISTENT at this hospital complex. Ninety-five percent of it is taken up by employees and then the other five percent is left for patients and visitors to fight over. Give yourself PLENTY of time when coming here. Other than that it's no different than any other medical facility; a human assembly line of in and out, in and outnext.

I came in the ER at 3:30 PM and just left because no one was listening to me. I have been in agony all day and no one can give me a plan. I just laid there for 4 hours without a Dr. letting me know what the plan is. They did give me an IV, an injection of bentyl, which I take a Rx for bentyl, which I told the RN that it doesn't work for my stomach. So as I lay there with the pain increasing and the BP going up I still haven't seen the Dr or RN. So I removed the pulse indicator, the BP cuff, the heart monitor and the IV. Put my clothes on and walked out. Guess what? No one even noticed. Thanks Martin Memorial ER. By the way it is Monday June 26, 2017. I received a voicemail from the RN which I couldn't understand about 15 minutes after I left the ER. Called ER back and told whoever answered the phone that I received a voicemail I couldn't hear and the RN Josh was put on the phone. He said the Dr wanted more blood work and a cat scan. I had already told the Dr I had a cat scan April 9th for the same problems and nothing was seen. Everything was good, even the appendix I don't have. I explained to the Dr that Volunteers in Medicine had run every bood test, stool, urine and x-rays with no pathology noted. I'm sorry MMH doesn't care enough about someone'shealth that they just let you sit for hours not knowing anything. No communication from the Dr or RN. They just ignore the patient and let you sit. This same scenario played out with my father. Sat in the ER for 9 hours in so much pain from a blood clot that I took him out of the ER, even though security told me I couldn't, drove to West Palm and he was admitted in an hour. MMH has no problem letting patients sit for hours without a treatment plan They just simply don't care about time and the patients needs. I've been treated at MMH for 39 years. But since our county has exploded their quality of service has deteriorated.

Absolutely horrific at 3:30-4pm on 2/13/2017 I entered the ER at Martin South. I had prepared a complete list of all my current medications as well as the ones I no longer take. I was admitted with acute gastrointestinal hemorrhage. Bleeding and in pain I answered 20 minutes of questions, many which I had written down prior to coming in. Subsequently I was wheeled to the hallway and put in a large closet holding wheelchairs and various other medical supplies, that was where Dr. Nathan Mohseni, DO examined me, called for a CT scan and a nurse took 8 vials of blood. I was told I needed and EGD and that since it was early I may have that done that evening. I was also told by Dr Mohseni that a room was available and I would be made comfortable in 1-2 hours time. A sheet appeared with Dr. David Elliotts' name on it and it was explained to me that Dr. Elliott would be at the hospital soon. This is when things turned negative. No Dr. Elliott and no room for 9 hours. The closet was in constant use, lights, noise etc. Approximately 12:30 am the pain subsided and I slept for 20 minutes only to be abruptly awakened and taken to my room, it was 1:06 am. I was fully awake, reasked all the same questions and prodded until 3:00am and in pain once again. Afterward I attempted to rest only to have a return visit at 3:15am for something that had been forgotten. I was told not to worry and that Dr. Elliott would be making his rounds soon, about 8-9am and that I would have an EGD. At 3:30 pm that afternoon Dr. Elliott appeared. When I asked him what the 7-8 hour delay was, Dr. Elliott said he takes care of three hospitals, his own practice until 3:00 pm and also has a wife and 2 kids. He asked me if I wanted to take care of that for him. 3 minutes later he was gone. 2 minutes after that he called my phone and said I needed a colonoscopy as well. But I had to wait until tomorrow around 3:30pm. Dr Paul Gaeta stopped in that evening and I asked if I would be able to have any food, he said after EGD and colonoscopy I could order an egg. That night when I woke up from procedures they said that the meals were over and had to wait till the morning.Sunday - Wednesday was only water and a bowl of broth. Thursday morning after the kitchen opens and I call for my egg, I'm told the doctor never removed me from the liquid diet possibly inadvertantly, you are being released soon anyway. 6 hours later I am released, of course no food, no dietary instructions, no anything. I see Dr Paul Gata in the elevator as i am being discharged, Dr. what can I eat, its been 5 days. His response was, well, don't starve yourself. What a wonderful, perceptive and informative statement. 3 weeks later, no doctors appointment with Dr David Elliott, no dietary instructions, no medical prescriptions, no medical records that were requested at least six times from Dr Elliott, who took them with him as explained by Martin Memorial South. Your records of your EGD and colonoscopy will not be released until you see Dr. Elliott, they are my property I explained. Then have your Dr request them. Please have a nurse call me regarding my prescription refills, yes she will call you tuesday after 2:30 pm 2/28/2017. I am still waiting for a call its now 3/21/2017 unbelieveable! I am writing the AMA and the medical board regarding Dr David Elliott. Sincerely Scott Kayel

Nurses are heavily misinformed. My mother was in the hospital for E-coli and they told me she has a blood born ilness and i could have it and had to get bloodwork done. Well it wasnt a blood born ilness. The hospital billed my insurance heavily and is twisting the knife with a copay by sending it to collections not negotiating with me on their staff issue.

Horrible does not matter time of day you have to wait 5/6 hours before you get thru to see the nurse for an evaluation. No one seem to take pride in their work. And if you get pass the nurse..They leave you in the hallway for more hours. Just sad. I hate this hospital
