Don't try to carry a firearm on base. It's really no big deal if you have one and declare it. I wouldn't want to get caught NOT declaring it. They do search your truck, although it's not very intrusive without cause.
Typical government installation, check in, go to area, ask several people, finally get unloaded, and leave.
It took me about 2 hours to jump through all of the hoops. I also expected a base to be cleaner, and more organized.

Not a bad experience.
BTW, there is a truck and trailer mechanic shop that will hold your firearm. . or you can chance it, and risk Federal Prison.

Commercial traffic now delivers off S
Mock Rd. All personnel were great ti work with. I showed up without a delivery appointment and they still unloaded me and didn't make me wait.

I was disappointed to find out that this was a research only library and couldn't get a library card since I was out of state after getting lost for awhile from taking the wrong train. Nevertheless I did like it's nostalgic marble architecture. It reminded me a lot of the San Francisco Marine Corps Logistics Base. It was nice that they had a research section to 'Asians'. If I had more time here I probably would've drowned myself with the knowledge from these books.
