Our unique school design offers rigorous academic instruction, as well as classes in Adaptive Aquatics, Therapeutic Music and Art, Social Skills, Communication and Job Training. Mamie D. Lee has an apartment within our school where students learn to cook, clean, and live independently. We also have an outdoor classroom, community garden, an afterschool program and by far boast the largest number of students who participate in Special Olympics each year!
In January of 2011, Mamie D. Lee received the designation of Autonomous School, providing our school community with the opportunity to create unique and innovative experiences for our students. Founded in September of 1971, our school has celebrated a rich tradition of providing high-quality services to students with intellectual disabilities for forty years. We have a well-qualified team of professionals, a committed and active PTA, and hands-down the very best students in the entire world! We are home to the MIGHTY, MIGHTY WILDCATS!
