The back deck is GREAT! 4 comfy chairs and a bit of grass to sit on, gaze at the water, listen to the lapping water, enjoy the sun and read.

As a volunteer at an Island library in Florida I just had to stop at the library on Mackinac Island. It is jawbreakingly georgeous and the view from the desk is to die for. Who can ask for a better view of the lighthouse while you work. Glad I didn't miss it.

If you are a reader you simply must just duck in the doors of this darling library, nothing could prevent you. (Unless it is closed, which is frequent, it closes way too early) But, to continue, as you steal your longing glimpses at the shelves of books (you can't check them out unless you have a library card in Michigan) make sure you wander to the back of the building, and if you see a glass door; Open it! A cool breeze along with a gorgeous view of the water will arrest your feet where they are, shortly before drawing them out on a petite back porch with white wooden rockers. And even if you can't carry your musty best friends away from the library, you may take them out on this porch during hours.
After hours you may stay there, solitary and alone, watching the nearby waves advance and retreat, daring you to wade in their frigid water--I did so, will you?

This is a quaint little library with a beautiful view of Lake Huron. There are a number of white wooden rockers to relax in and read out on the library's back porch. The setting is beautiful!
