I grew up near this park and have visited more times than I can count. The pool area is a major attraction and has changed (for the better) over the years. The slides and children's splash area were welcome additions. The price is reasonable and there is a snack area, which I don't think is great, but you can also bring your own picnic basket with you and have a picnic just outside of the pool area.
The lake is great for kayaking, they also have paddle boat rentals and you will always find someone fishing along the shores.
At the other side of the park is a pavilion you can rent and a boat dock so you can bring your own boat/kayak/canoe and enjoy the lake as well.
The old mill by the one trail is a little taste of the activity of the many Perry County mills that dotted the area in years gone by. My grandfather and great grandfather ran a mill and you can still see bags from their mill here.

I enjoyed there hiking trail very much, it starts out fairly easy and gets harder as you go. If you don't like hard trail hiking stay away from the last portion of the hike.

There is a 5 mile loop hike around the lake with several small hills which is an excellent training hike. The swimming pool is great too. And the lake is good for boat sports. It's beautiful in all seasons

Amazing park, small but quiet midweek during the fall. Great fishing and just a great place to go for a morning or afternoon hike, you can spend the day hete at the swimming pool in the summer. There are some very nice hunting zones in the park if that's your thing. So make sure in hunting season to wear bright clothing if you are walking the hunting trails. Some really unique views of central PA are here. If you want to have a REAL central pa experience, go here. Camping closes early in the season but they have modern cabins, rustic cabins and tent camping available. Facilities and rangers station are all kept in great shape. They take great pride in their park and cleanliness as well as being extremely friendly. The front desk clerk told me some history of the area while I was waiting for my girlfriend to use the bathroom. Amazing experience every time you come In the winter they light up their covered bridge and have a Santa trail. Great place for kids, families and adults. Take your kids to the pool, walk the ridge trails and sit on one of the benches with the one you love, or just come and relax. There's everything! No need to go far, its less than an hour drive from Harrisburg or Selinsgrove to boot!

Love this state park! They have a large pool that is reasonably priced. The campground has clean bathrooms and large sites. There are many trails to hike on and the lake is great for kayaking and fishing. They even offer boat rentals, which are a bit high but if you don't have one of your own..not too bad.

We stayed here in our teardrop camper and loved it. The campsite was nicely sized and had just the right amount of privacy for us! The bathhouse was well kept and the showers were HOT. Great stay! Would recommend to others!

This is a really nice state park with a beautiful lake, really big nice swimming pool, and lots of parking and places to picnic. The only short coming I could think of was the swingset/play ground. It's very small, there's no swing seats for toddlers, and it's starting to show its age and fall apart.

The picnic area was very nice. We had a group and had enough space and partial shade for everyone. Being close to the lake was a plus. On the pool side I was not impressed. Pool was at capacity we coykd not get in. We had to stand in line 15 minutes to find this out. Also concessions at the pool were entirely too slow. 20 minutes for a soda?? No excuses for this.

Nice cute place and fantastic views on the way as well as inside the park. Good place for camping and relaxing. Swimming pool at the little buffalo is a must do activity. Boats can be rented. Pool closes quite often during the day and for passing storms..overall a nice place

Love this place. The swimming pool is a great place to relax and swim and take the kids. They have water slides as well as a splash park next to the pool. They also have picnic tables with grills if you want to picnic and a beautiful Lake that you can do a paddle boat on. They also have several hiking trails.
