A sprawling park-like mall that wonderfully illustrates how retired campuses such as this former naval marine station can have a second life. Features include luxury movie theaters, fine dining restaurants, casual-but-unique eateries, grocery stores, and a plethora of shopping outlets. For the mobility impaired; be aware that due to its large size, parking near your intended destination may be advised. Square-footage notwithstanding, the grounds are easily navigable and wheelchair ready.
I love the diversity of Liberty Station. You can find all sorts of things here including, but not limited to, Starbucks, Panera, Liberty Station Public Market is it a great place that has lots of different stores and restaurants within it, Ace Hardware, lots of different and great restaurants, different art classes for all different ages, a dance studio, a movie theater, and ice cream shop, different grocery stores/ markets, lots of space to walk your dog, multiple playgrounds, a few different schools that start from preschool and goes through High School, lots of different local events are held here Whatever you're looking for, I'm sure Liberty Station has it! There's lots of parking and it's all free. It's a huge place you should definitely check it out!
Liberty station has become a real gem of San Diego. The public market is a wonderful place to find great local food they have a little bit of everything! Several great stores have moved into the area as well check out the really cool bike shop! Most of the buildings have been restored and they have some great history you will love all the photo opportunities here.
This area of San Diego is FABULOUS. The historic gentrification and the intertwining of arts, culinary, and fitness in these mixed use buildings are so well done that any city wishing to gentrify should look at Liberty Station as a model. Parking is ample except when major events are happening at the park. The only detractor to this place is the flight path of the arriving flights at the neighboring airport. Other than that, Liberty Station is a total 10 when looking for great neighborhoods to live and socialize in within the Downtown San Diego area.
I have never had a bad experience here the many times I have come. With so much to do and see, you cannot be bored. The Lot theater here is exceptional with good food and relaxing leather recliners. The sound system was on par and the service was timely. I have enjoyed many restaurants in here without one being a miss. Love this place, great way to turn an old military barracks into an entertainment center without leaving behind the odd atmosphere of dull military bruteness
This is a beautiful place with plenty to do. Formerly a military training compound, the pretty, traditional Mexican architecture of the buildings frames the gardens and bustling squares. It now has tons of wonderful and unique eateries, art shops and exhibit spaces, plus a fantastic cinema. The grounds are gorgeous - big gardens, plenty of park benches in the shade and parking is plentiful too.
We moved to San Diego a few months ago. We've been looking for a place with good local food and shops. A place that you don't get anywhere else that's quite the same. The Liberty Station Markets are it! Dozens of great food vendors, a local fish market, good coffee/drinks, and shops. The only problem is deciding what to get. Highly recommended if you spend some time in SD and want more of a local vibe.
Nice all around. Do you want to just find a place to walk around or go for a run? Do you just want to go have a craft beer with a friend? Do you want to try different foods from around the world? Well if you said yes to any of those, liberty station would be a great place to go.
Liberty Station is WONDERFUL! I was a volunteer there three weeks ago for ARTWALK. Two sunny days filled with people and awesome art. Liberty Station has a wide variety of restaurants, Breweries, Stores, and even a fancy Movie Theater (The Lot) There's a Vons, Trader Joe's, and an ACE Hardware. All very clean and well stocked. Be sure to take a walk through Liberty Market. So much fun to check out the stands, pick out your lunch, and stop to eat (and people watch.) On Sundays, there will be extra traffic for the multiple church services at The Rock. Check it out!
Liberty Station has something for everyone. A food mecca with a variety of options within walking distance. Tour the culinary globe with just a few steps. Also an art hub in San Diego with a variety of small galleries, working artist studios, art and music schools, movie theater and permanent art fixtures. Ample parking, however, often a crowd favorite during weekends and holidays. A quieter visit during off season and week days is sure to delight the less than social adventurer.
From the open market, sladers 50/50 to tader Joe's this place is amazing. Also a great spot for Pokémon go
This place is very nice. You can find restaurants, supermarkets, museums and other interesting merchants. Liberty station is an old Navy training center that was re-used as a community Center. Highly recommended
The great historic liberty stations has different varieties of food and beer. Great place to hang out at.
Cool spot with a ton of parking. Stone Brewery is amazing and so is the indoor market. You owe it to yourself to check it out if you are in the area. Kid and dog friendly too.
Love the atmosphere and local eateries. The Liberty Public Market is the best! Great food options in the market for everyone, include beer and wine too. The only downside is the wine choices are quite expensive. Wish there was more reasonable priced option. The bartender even told me this glass is 14 dollars + tax, so it will cost you 17 dollars for a glass with tip.
