Another local gem of a restaurant in VA Beach, with a great decor. They use all locally produced ingredients and their menu has a good variety of options. It also has a full bar with mimosas and other cocktails. Their service can be a bit slow when they are packed, but it's expected, so don't go there for a quick bite on their busy times (breakfast, brunch, weekends). Most of their dishes are accompanied with their great potato salad and the presentation in general is as good as the taste. Worth the visit, but be careful, you might miss it as you drive on Shore Drive!!!

This is a great place. Tasty food, nice energy and atmosphere. I particularly like the adult grilled cheese sandwich. If you're looking to eat a vegetarian meal you have choices here. It's all good enough to make up for the parking situation and still get five stars.

Really unique little spot. Beautiful outdoor patio seating on backside. The staff were all so friendly and created a warm atmosphere. The food was simple and delicious. Nothing over the top but on point. Menu options vary from lighter fare, seasonal dishes, and comfort food. Very healthy choices. Went for lunch.

Excellent service from a super friendly team. The food is fresh and flavorful. The Big-Big omelette lives up to its name. The crab Benedict is full of lump! Just say YES to the sweet potato biscuits, country ham and peach jam! Don't forget to check out the full service bakery before you leave for homemade bread and cakes! And there's a walking trail to the lake in back!

Average brunch spot, not too busy when we went there. Ordered a crab cake Benedict for $15, that came with a garden salad and fresh fruit. The salad was the best thing on there. The atmosphere was nice, but the service wasn't good. The food overall was okay, but I wouldn't go back.

Food looked and tasted so good, I forgot to take pictures. The Hummus plate was so good... The food is fresh and farm to table... I also recommend the BLT with fried green tomatoes. Make sure you tour the garden and say hi to the chickens. The parking lot is a little tight. Will definitely go back. Great place for locals to take out of town guest.

Generous portions for the lizard caprese. Fresh tomatoes were delicious. Potato salad is different from the normal mayonnaise based, which I prefer. House basil vinaigrette on the salad was delicious. Tried the in season peach cobbler. The overall texture and taste was good, only complaint is that it could have used a little more cinnamon or something to add a but if spice. Or pair with cinnamon vanilla ice cream. Staff was very friendly and conversational. I will go back to try other items.

Excellent food and Attentive Service in an Inviting Ambience.
It's been a while, but no return to Virginia Beach would be complete without a visit to the Leaping Lizard Cafe. Once again, Bill and his team produced an array of absolutely delicious and beautifully presented meals. Mouth watering appetizers, entrees and desserts, catered to a wide variety of preferences and needs, and were accompanied by elegantly balanced sides and garnishes. To me, it is the small details which make a restaurant stand out; something as simple as their made-from-scratch tomato salsa which was so fresh, succulent and bursting with a rich flavor that it immediately transported me back to sun-kissed childhood memories of hand-picked fruit from the vine.

As usual, the staff achieved a relaxed, non-intrusive, attentiveness and the newly expanded seating area added to the comfortable, friendly and stylishly decorated ambiance.

Everything you would want in a casually elegant restaurant when eating with friends, family and loved ones.

Terrible service. Took at least an hour for food. Party of 8 for a birthday dinner.. was told a larger party was in the back and when calling to confirm they asked if we would like another day... no we made reservations for a birthday dinner (quite rude). The waitress was inattentive (although she was older and should have better customer service experience) and she not only forgot to take an order, but also asked for my order again after my entree failed to come out after an hour of waiting. As I was about to say it was unnecessary and I was no longer hungry, she snapped back at me saying it would come soon. My entree was bland as well as another guest's entree. After purchasing a bottle of wine and eight entrees, nothing was extraordinarily delicious. I guess if you don't know the owner you get the peasant treatment. Some lunch places should stay lunch places. Work on customer service..

Always a good place for brunch or dinner. It takes a while to get the food out though so it is definitely a place you don't want to go if your in a rush.

Quaint and cozy atmosphere. The staff are so awesome, and very welcoming. They make you feel as if you were family. The food is incredible, and the presentation of the food is equally incredible.

I've been to the Leaping Lizard five times or more, and have never had anything but phenomenal experiences here! Beautiful and eclectic outside seating. Knowledgeable, friendly wait staff. Mind the hours, reservations probably aren't a bad idea if you're going at peak hours, but always always worth the wait. Divine, complex, and perfectly layered flavors to everything I've ever had. Gorgeous and tasty cocktails as well. Love this place!
