My daughter from a previous marriage attends Lakeside High. She's a senior this year and while visiting her I had a chance to speak with the staff about her future plans to go to college. The guidance counselor was helpful and informative. My first meeting was by appointment, but I dropped by unexpectedly on another day and she gave me her undivided attention even when it was past normal staff hours. My daughter has not expressed any complaints about the school system and her grades are good (with room for improvement, in my opinion). The building looks great! It's just too bad the newest, high-tech structure in the whole city of Ashtabula is the local high school.
