Florida history and a beautiful park. Small enough for an afternoon visit to cover all the grounds.

This is a great state park. It is in a residential area and acts as something of a neighborhood park. It is popular for dog walking, jogging and nature excursions. It has a few hiking trails, an old mill feature and most importantly several American Indian Mounds. The largest of these mounds has an observation platform which has a commanding view of the surrounding area. Additionally this park has a bathroom, some picnic tables and potable water.

Great examples of remaining Native American architecture. The mounds are the remaining footprint of the Lake Jackson Peoples who lived on the fertile lake bottom before Europeans arrived. Picnicking, great hiking and views of deep ravines as well. Ask the great staff questions about the park.

There's 2 mounds you can see. It's overgrown with weeds/high grass. The bathrooms are clean. The view would be awesome if it wasn't overgrown with trees and grass/weeds!

Love this place!! So peaceful, calm. Nice trails, picnic area, stairway mounds, rest rooms. One of my favorites for sure.

Great park for the family, Mounds with stairs to climb and beautiful trails to follow with some small Bridges. Perfect place to visit for a picnic and there is one gazebo to rent out.

The mounds were not as exciting as they seemed they would be and there is no trail to the mounds so there are bugs and ants everywhere. Still it was a cool experience to be on top of the mounds, just a little underwhelming.

This is a lovely historical area in Tallahassee. There are some archeological significant mounds with information posted. I also love the nature trails.
