  Seriously needs some TLC. Been going here since I was 5. It's nice and... Nice but mainly go here if you don't need high end equipment or the most recent books
  
  Minus two stars because they use old fluorescent lighting which buzzes and gives me headaches.

  Several ways to view libraries, La Habra has a charming historic brick library. Come here to pick up a children's book for .10, pick up or return books, read a recent newspaper or study after class or go online, its up to you. Designed by architecture firm of Anthony and Langford in 1982 (original library given graciously by John & Anna Launer) it used to be their home 1898 to 1962.
  
  Shelves are warm wood and organically inviting. Notice cute little corners filled with books, art and even a section dedicated to author Ronald Dahl---wrote Willy Wonka and the Chocolate factory. Children's section comes alive with bright colored geometric rug and red couches fit for a little Princes or Princesses.
  
  Challenge given to me was find a library open late on a Sunday. Jill Patterson (at the desk) was quick on the computer keys and before the result came she remarked OC Law Library. A mutual search revealed Ayala Science Library or Leatherby law library open until 10:00 pm. Got a peek into the used book store and set aside selections. Local Art is for sale on the wall---not Picasso---yet the lighting on canvas was similar to Vermeer. Small, charming little find in La Habra and a comfortable respite to bathe in the works of Roald Dahl or author of your choice.

  I have visited this library several times over the past month and have found it to be very noisy. The staff is helpful in other aspects; however, this is NOT the place to study or have a quiet afternoon if you need a peaceful environment. It is more of a community center than the type of quiet environment that I've come to expect of a library.
