Anytime I'm in Milwaukee to visit relatives or fish for steelhead or smallies on the Milwaukee or Menominee Rivers, I make sure I stop in to get my Kopp's fix.

Their simple, no frills burgers are a treat, with buns grilled to perfection. Order them with the works - pickle, fried onions, ketchup, and mustard. The fries are great, and the onion rings are delicious if not usually a bit difficult to eat. A soft drink rounds out a fairly inexpensive meal.

My only gripe with this location is that it can be tough to figure out who is in line and/or where the line forms because of the spoon and cherry sculpture. However, once you find the line and place your order, you're just waiting for some awesome.

After you have your meal or just as a standalone, their frozen custard is the best you'll find for a hot summer day.

Excellent frozen custard. I would go to prison over this frozen custard. I think the email alerts on the flavor forecast is really creative. I get so excited when I see cookie dough come up!

I heard the burger is a top 20 burger in America and I disagree.

The burger is McDonalds quality at most. It’s nice that you get to pick your toppings, the patty is decently sized, and it fills you up. But calling it a top 20 burger is a big fat lie. I’ll eat it, I just don’t think it should be considered amazing by any means.

Go for the custard, it’s what they do best.

Their burgers and chicken are great, very large portions. I am a big fan of their custard as well. You can check their website for their flavor forecast as well as their monthly sundays and shakes. They offer 2 specialty flavors each day.

This is a very simple concept. Make great and inexpensive food then supply amazing ice cream deserts and you have a winning restaurant idea. The bathrooms look like homeless people live in them. And, the lack of seating in the winter is a unique idea for a restraunt trying to sell food and have people hang out for dessert. But it works for most of Milwaukee. If you are from out of town, this is a must try. Great for kids, families and school buses filled with hungry kids coming from a sporting event. My family and I will be back many more times.

The best custard in town. This is not ice cream it is much better. My favorite flavor at the moment is grasshopper fudge. But simple vanilla or chocolate are always great. They also have fabulous burgers and chicken sandwiches. The onion rings are my favorite. They even have a great fish sandwich for Lent and a grilled cheese.

Love the daily custard forecast and looking forward to my favorite flavors. The custard is always creamy and delicious. The thick, buttery grilled cheese is always delicious as are the huge burgers.

This place has some of the best burgers I've ever had! The burgers are not gourmet like you'd find in a sit-down restaurant, but excellent for a fast(ish) counter service restaurant. They have many toppings to choose from, and the prices are fair for the serving sizes. I'm a huge fan of there onion rings which are big on flavor and crunch! The custard is also excellent, most recently a chocolate peanut butter shake. I visit this place whenever I'm in the Milwaukee area. Do expect a longer wait than your traditional fast food location, especially on weekends. More than once I've been here for 45+ minutes because a sports team got in line ahead of me, but that is just testament to being "worth the wait".

A signature Milwaukee spot. Each location.is unique but the one on the North side is original even though greatly remodeled. Outstanding burgers and custard ice cream. Grilled cheese and chicken (LTM) well worth it too!

Do you have 20 minutes to wait for 1 Double burger?
That's how long it took on a Saturday night at 7:48 p.m. No exaggeration whatsoever. I timed it. I asked the staff behind the counter if "20 minutes was a reasonable wait time for 1 Double burger" she said "yes". Got my order at 8:10. Oh yeaand you must take it with or you or stand up to eat it at a tiny table. I'm from Chicago and tried because the reviews were RIDICULOUSLY great. Burger is 70% better than avg. at a good price. But I bet you can do better and I'm a big foodie

Kopp's has fantastic burgers and the best frozen custard you will ever have. This place is usually pretty busy, but that's because their products are in such high demand. The staff works very quickly to fulfill customer orders, and they're all so friendly while they do it. Prices here are slightly higher than similar restaurants, but that's because the quality is so much higher than their competitors. Because of that, I consider their prices to be more than fair. Kopp's is one of those places that makes me proud to live in Milwaukee. Definitely give it a shot!

Came for custard with the family when they were in town. Really enjoyed chocolate, vanilla, and the flavor of the day. The lines were chaotic on a weekday evening, there seemed to be no order, but most customers respected the queues. Seating around seemed a bit scarce. The cows were fun to look at. Be sure to stop by if you're a fan of custard!

I have been coming to this Kopps for years! No complaints! Everyone working here is beyond nice, the prices are amazing, the flavors are great! It does stink when it is so busy, but it is busy for a reason! It is better when the weather is warm so you can sit outside. There isn't much space to be indoors. You'd have to take food to go, but it is all worth it! So good!

I can not say enough about this place. I have been eating Kopp's for as long as i can remember. For me Kopp's is the place where no matter what is going on if it is a trip through Milwaukee or coming back form living in the West Coast, Kopp's was always stop number#2 #1 was Grandma. But the quality of the food, the taste of the food, and the amount of food that you get is very well priced. The food off the grill is great, jumbo burger with all the fixings that you want and there is far more then just burgers. Then after all the great food from the grill and the fryer, you have to make a choice. You have to pick between the choices of what you can all do with the great custard. Start with the flavor of the day where you have normally two to choose from, then you have to make the choice of 1 - 6 scoops and the way you want to receive the custard. The choice of a sugar cone, waffle cone or in a dish with a small triangle of sugar cone. But if the flavor of the day is not your top choice you can always have vanilla, or chocolate. After all of that if you are still undecided you can build a shake or malt, perhaps a Sunday. That is why Kopp's will get and always get 5 stars from me, this place is always busy and yes that includes when the weather is below zero you will still go to Kopp's and have a line and people enjoying a burger and custard. I tip my hat to you Kopp's.
