From 2005 through 2022, I have served in the capacity of CFO, COO, Outsourced CFO, Interim CEO, Interim CFO, Board Member and as a consultant. I have excellent relationships with the regulatory agencies and have been approved by the FDIC and OCC to become the CFO in both "troubled" institutions and where there has been a change of control.At a bank in Missouri, I prepared all the paperwork for a bank to become a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI). The bank received $1,626,250 in grant money in 2021 and in excess of $200,000 in 2022. I also prepared the quarterly reporting that was required. This program is an excellent vehicle for community banks to increase other income.A project at a bank in Nebraska was to develop a finance/accounting/risk department for a bank that had crossed the $500 million threshold and was subject to FDICIA requirements. The bank previously had outsourced all internal and external reporting for both the bank and holding company which I brought in house. I transitioned the bank to an interest rate risk model that was performed at the instrument level.At a $1 billion (troubled) savings bank in Des Moines, KPMG had resigned as independent auditors as they found the institution had so many material misstatements that they were "un-auditable". I was asked to restate the last three years of financial statements within a 90-day time period so that a correct December 31st call report could be filed, and an auditor could be engaged. I completed the project within the time frame outlined and McGladrey (RSM) found no exceptions to my restatements nor did the Comptroller of the Currency. I then worked with the executive management team to complete the sale of nine separate branch transactions and use the proceeds to sell troubled assets. We were able to complete this without going through FDIC receivership.
