I wish I could give 0 stars…we were greeted by probably the owner with we are closing at 8:00. We walked in at 7:10. We waited 15 minutes for service. I had to ask numerous times for a soda as I watched the other tables of “regulars” being treated like royalty. I saw ice cream being brought to the other tables and when I asked for ice cream, I was told they didn’t serve ice cream. If they are looking to gain new customers this type of service won’t get it. Being the majority of their regular customers appeared to be from many of the 55 and over developments…they better pray they live long healthy lives because treatment like I received …I will never be back… Oh just a side note now looking at their hours they are closed tomorrow….hmmm probably heading to A/C to spend their winnings from the weekend regulars. That’s why they closed by 8 and rushed all the remaining patrons out of the restaurant. You should be ashamed of yourselves. I hope where ever the owners of this restaurant dine on their day off tomorrow, they are treated the way they treated my family. Stay away from this place!!!!
The food here brings me back to Brooklyn. Great soup, dumplings, Chinese eggplant, etc. Big portions, well priced. Check it out!
I came here because of all the great reviews, but unfortunately I didn’t find it that great. I ordered the sesame chicken dinner with vegetable fried rice. The breading to the sesame chicken was soggy. The sauce is suppose to be sweet and tangy. The sauce here had a bit of a tang, but lacked any sweetness. They need to improve the sauce to this dish! I expected for the higher price point here that the vegetable fried rice would of had better quality vegetables in it plus they didn’t give you any Chinese corn in it like other places do. The vegetable egg roll it came with was very good! Overall, I thought this place was mediocre. I’ll give this place another shot because of all the great reviews. I’d definitely don’t recommend ordering the sesame chicken here!
I recently tried King's Chinese Restaurant in Freehold, and overall, it was a good experience. We ordered take-out, and the restaurant was packed with people picking up their orders. Despite the crowds, the food was ready to go and lined up for take-out.
We ordered several dishes, and I was impressed with the amount of food we got. The portions were generous, and it felt like we got a lot of value for our money.
The Egg Foo Young was good, but could have used a bit more salt to enhance the flavor. The Five Flavored Shrimp was a little too spicy for our liking, even though we had requested it to be less spicy. The Egg Roll was a standout - it was big and juicy, and we could tell that it was made with care. The Hot and Sour Soup was delicious and spicy, just the way we like it. Lastly, the Singapore Chow Mei Fun was good.
Overall, I would give King's Chinese Restaurant 4 1/2 stars out of 5. The only reason being that the Five Flavored Shrimp was much spicier than we had anticipated, even though we had requested less spicy. But, again, this is a personal preference. The food was delicious, the portions were generous, and the service was quick and efficient. I would definitely recommend giving it a try if you're in the mood for Chinese food in Freehold.
I started going to this place when they first opened up almost 40 years ago. I no longer live in NJ but when I come to visit I always eat here. They have the best Chinese food around. This is a family owned establishment and a few things have changed over the years and decades but everything is as good now as it was back then. I highly recommend. Great portion sizes lots of options very friendly staff and family. A+++
Horrible. First and last time I’ll go there. Everything we ordered was tasteless and undercooked. Would not recommend this place. Sorry, just my honest opinion.
Nice people GREAT FOOD
Freddy honored my Mom's 91st birthday presenting beautiful & tasty lobster in black bean sauce!
Ordered takeout from here to give it a try after seeing all the reviews. The order only took 15 minutes despite being busy, and I was able to get my order quickly and head home. Food was good, not the best I've had in the area, but definitely a good solid Chinese restaurant. If you're close by, then this is a good Chinese place to visit.
My husband goes there on the way home from work which is about 20 mins from our home. They gave him the wrong order I called and the man who answered the phone said they gave us and charged us for the wrong order our order was still there. My husband drove all the way back only to have the woman manager tell him it was his mistake that he took the wrong order. Which is hard to do because they keep the orders behind the counter. Our order was about 12.00 the other one was 26.00. She refunded for the 26.00 order and flat out refused to do anything about the mistake kept telling him it was his fault. I called her up to confront her and she was very rude so I told her you want to treat your customers like that then enjoy your google review. You may have hung up on me but I'm the one writing this now. Enjoy ! This place used to be good. Oh and to top it off not even a fresh order we got a cold order that sat there.
I have gotten takeout here for the last few years. The food is mainly cantonese style- not spice. It's what I grew up eating. The quality is good and the staff is friendly. Just had a great lobster in black bean sauce.
This is the place to go in the freehold area. Freddy is the man
Absolutely the best Chinese I've ever had. Everything is house made, from the noodles to hot sauce. It's small, classic restaurant joint so get there early, or you'll be waiting. Freddy is the man!
Food is very delicious at King. The staff was extremely polite and welcoming . Definitely would recommend this place to anyone .
Love this place. We come here at least twice a month. Freddie is awesome and always cheerful. The food is always delicious and plenty of leftovers.
Always a staple with us! They make their own noodles so how can you go wrong? Love their food and quick service! Delicious food! We have never had an issue with Kings
