Lead water pipe - The ball under the shut off valve is lead. Very common in Chicago. Also, pipe insulation is asbestos.

Fire hazard - An addition was put on this house and they failed to raise the fireplace and furnace chimney stacks. This can start on fire and carbon monoxide can enter.

Electrial - Notice the black electrical tape on the split nuts. If Com Ed made these connections they you would see caps. Most likely no permits were applied for.

"My realtor recommend kerfin Inspections and I was concerned that maybe they would be easy on the the house because they want business from the relator. Not the case, they were very up front, honest and called it like it was. I would recommend Kerfin to any of my family or friends."

"Top notch company and top notch inspectors. First time I ever saw mold in a attic and was surprised. Remediation was $3,200.00. The home owner was surprised as well."

Asbestos pipe wrap - This white pipe insulation is aerosol type asbestos and I find it most often in homes built in the 1950's.
