New Review from a Happy Customer:
"I have been using Kerfin for years and all my customers have been satisfied. I recommend Kerfin every chance I can. They are very much to the point and they tell it like it is."
Lead water pipe - The ball under the shut off valve is lead. Very common in Chicago. Also, pipe insulation is asbestos.
Fire hazard - An addition was put on this house and they failed to raise the fireplace and furnace chimney stacks. This can start on fire and carbon monoxide can enter.
Electrial - Notice the black electrical tape on the split nuts. If Com Ed made these connections they you would see caps. Most likely no permits were applied for.
Disconnected flu - The water heater flu is disconnected from the chimney stack and carbon monoxide is spilling in the house. Home owner had no idea and carbon monoxide detectors.
Damaged fireplace damper - The fireplace damper is damaged and corroded.
New Review from a Happy Customer:
"My realtor recommend kerfin Inspections and I was concerned that maybe they would be easy on the the house because they want business from the relator. Not the case, they were very up front, honest and called it like it was. I would recommend Kerfin to any of my family or friends."
New Review from a Happy Customer:
"Top notch company and top notch inspectors. First time I ever saw mold in a attic and was surprised. Remediation was $3,200.00. The home owner was surprised as well."
Vinyl asbestos floor tiles - If the floor tiles are 6 X 6 inch in size they most likely contain asbestos.
A base meter box - This old meter box was installed by Com Ed in the 1950's. It needs to be replaced and up graded to 100 amps.
New Review from a Happy Customer:
"FYI they take photos, explain things, they did not mind my grandpa who had a ton of dump questions. Also, not to mention my kids running around. Just good honest guys to work with."
Asbestos pipe wrap - This white pipe insulation is aerosol type asbestos and I find it most often in homes built in the 1950's.
New Review from a Happy Customer:
"Tim did a thermal scan and the current owner stated that the upper shower leak was repaired and in fact it was not. I highly recommend using Kerfin because they use all the correct equipment."
Leaky foundation - This is what happens when the exterior earth and landscape is higher then the foundation.
Double taps - Its very common to see double taps and normally are a code violation.
Water heater flu - The water heater vent runs across the hall. Its about six feet high.
