If you want to kill time, this could be a short drive from the university. Not much of art is there probably you will take 45 minutes max to review everything

Beautiful peaceful museum in a gorgeous old restored building from the 1800s. Free to visit with constantly changing exhibitions.

This is an amazing museum in the old historic Lunatic Asylum at the Ridges at Ohio University! Do yourself a favor and check this place out next time you are in Athens

A very small yet impressive museum occupying the ground floor of the main administrative segment of the original 1874 structure, and one small hall of the second floor. The current exhibition included numerous paintings, historical collection pieces, and films, and is well worth the time to visit. Admission is free, but there is a small recommended donation. Allow about an hour for the museum, and another hour for The Ridge grounds, which are also worth walking around.
