Kelsey's is a favorite of ours when visiting Valparaiso. Excellent prime rib and steaks. The bisque is also a must have. Fine desserts are always available. Upscale food in a casual atmosphere.
A great steakhouse with an excellent menu. Food prep is always top notch and the menu contains a nice variety of options besides the beef choices. It is very popular on weekends so you may encounter a wait time but it is well worth it. The wait staff is courteous and attentive.
Wonderful, high-quality steaks with great sides. They have a large selection at the bar as well as bar only food choices. I recommend the Howie cake for dessert.
We had a great meal for our 47th wedding anniversary. Our waitress, Madi, was very good by checking on us several times and even suprised us with a complimentary anniversary cake at the end of our very good experience at Kelsey's. The onion soup is very good. The salads are generous with very fresh greens and dressings. The bread is warm and very tasty. The steaks are very tender and cooked to order. The breaded pan fried walleye was very good by being crisp on the edges and very moist and tender inside. Overall a very pleasant and enjoyable evening. We be back.
Excellent food and drinks, extremely attentive service, nice atmosphere, wonderful experience. We'll be back, had a Kelsey chocolate (mousse) cow for dessert. I should have eaten that first. I couldn't mooove
The acoustics, or lack of them, assault you first. They don't know the meaning of ambiance.
The waiter must have trained at a fast food joint. No class or ability to serve humans. The shrimp cocktail was alright but served with only four shrimp and a tiny piece of lemon. The large filet mignon $$$ that I
orderedthe waiter said it would take an hour if I didn't allow them to butterfly it. What is THAT about?
It was lousy and this place calls itself a steakhouse. The baked potato was undercooked and the "salad"
looked like someone had dumped it onto my plate from a leftover plate. Just a few scattered lettuce
pieces, one cherry tomato and five croutons. The forty-eight dollar bottle of wine was good. I had been here once before and their hamburger was very good. I will never go there again.
I expected it to be better than it was. Salad was nothing more than lettuce and croutons and they only give you about an ounce of dressing with it. I've had better steak at buffet places. My server let my cup run dry 3 times. And didn't give me the correct change on my bill. Just because of her poor service she received a $2 tip on a $30 bill. Should have just went to Taco Bell and ordered steak burritos.
Our daughter's name is Kelsey so we stopped. We had a great time, the staff was so friendly and they even let us purchase a couple of pint glasses. The food was good too!!
It wasn't bad but I definitely expected better. We ordered the calamari and it was very overcooked. My shrimp bisque was delicious and my New York strip was good with the garlic butter but my husband's ribeye was definitely overcooked and dry. But on the plus side, we were seated right away and our waitress was really nice and attentive.
I have been going there for over 25 years and the food and service is always great. The fact is you can't please everyone yet the staff will try there hardest to make sure every experience is great. Kelsey's has been feeding our family for decades. It's the first place we eat when we get back from vacation. It's a great American steakhouse.
$40 for a steak is outrageous. This isnt California. Serving size of fish was small. Saw 2 other tables get their food b4 us,we were there b4 them. Waited too long for our dinner. Outback steakhouse has them beat hands down. Never going back
Great Steakhouse. The steaks are succulent. When my family and I go we always ask for Richard as a waiter. Great service, great food. What more could you ask for.
We were able to get squeezed right in even with a 2-1/2 hour wait. The lady said if we could be finished within 1 hour she would seat us. Much appreciated and since we're not the type to sit at the table for hours it was fine with us! Food was great and even with being packed we were served in a timely manner
If you've never eaten prime rib, then you don't know how great meat can taste when the chefs at Kelsey's prepare their signature dish. It's pure heaven on the tongue and to be savored when you bite into the most pleasurable experience you'll ever have in a restaurant - it's that good. Every time we come back to visit, we have to eat at Kelsey's and order prime rib. It's so good, it's almost impossible to describe. You won't be disappointed. This is the finest restaurant in northwest Indiana and its reputation is well known. Highly recommended.
