March 1, 2017. I wish I would have read the reviews. I wouldn't have used him. My tax prep fee went from $187 three years ago under Art Rhoads to over $600 this year. Every year he's made major mistakes with my taxes, and it's because he didn't use the 1099's I gave him, consequently I just got an IRS bill showing almost $2,700 due. The 1099's are even in the binder he sent me, but he didn't add those figures to my income. I'm mad at myself for having him do my taxes. I'm not going to rant anymore, it'll only make me more mad! I wish there was a no star to give!
If I could give negative stars, I would. I wish I had read the reviews, for they are true. This man is a misogynist. I hired him to help me with my mothers estate. He was degrading, used bad grammar and spelling in his emails, deliberately tried to harm me when I refused his advances. I should have never hired him to help me with my estate. He's not even a CPA. He's an angry, little short man who has some kind of personality disorder and he takes his insecurities out on anyone he feels is superior to him. ( read : everyone ) He's a pathetic little troll. He takes pleasure in harming his clients. He's truly despicable,
I would provide 0 stars if I could. The owner is RUDE beyond belief and yelled at me for attempting to ask a general question. If you want to be bullied, use them. If not, go to anybody else for a better experience.
POOR SERVICE/CRAZY HIGH FEES. 7 months of inaction, then charged $475 for "services" of phone time and faxing that I can't prove, and that I can, and did, perform in just a few minutes. Office was closed in mid-afternoon 2 times when I stopped by. Frank was out of the office for a month on 2 different occasions I stopped to check on progress, and "couldn't be reached", next time he was out for a week and "couldn't be reached." Others in office claimed they didn't know about my project, or where my records were located when I asked for them.
This company provided payroll service for my business. They did a great job, I thought. In January of 2010 I called to cancel my services for payroll and let them know at that time that I was closing my store and will no longer be an employer. I figured they would complete the payroll services for me and wrap things up.
In January of 2011 my employees did not receive their W2 forms. I gave a call to Kelly Financial Services only to find out that they "though I changed payroll companies". They failed to tell me at that time that I needed to properly close my business with the government which I would have happily paid them to do. I find out that now need to file for the entire year because all the forms were not completed. I asked how much as I did not have employees for 3 our of the 4 quarters and found out that I would still need to pay $400 for them to fill out all 0's on my forms because they "are still liable". I let Mr. Kelly know that I had no way to pay that as my business was closed. I asked for an alternative to this and he was very short with me and seemed like I was bothering him.
The following day I called and requested a copy of my payroll for the first period of 2010 which was only for 2 weeks. I DID pay for this service and only needed copies. So, what did he want to charge me for copies? Was it $10, NO, $50, NO, $100, NO, $150, NO - For copies of my payroll he required that I pay him in excess of $175. I think this charge was ridiculous for 17 printed pages which they have on file.
I was also told that I must pay CASH if I wanted these copies. Up to this point I was billed for every service they provided to me. For some reason everything was great and very fair up to the point that I cancelled services with them. As soon as I was no longer a current customer I was treated like trash.
To make things worse, the owner insulted me with this statement:
"We are not your record keepers - if you cannot keep your records - we charge to reproduce them at the same rates that the government charges. It is that simple. Most responsible business owners understand their responsibility."
Do YOU want to deal with this guy? I didn't know the government did payroll and charged for it.
All I wanted was my payroll numbers, no government records or filing info. What a Jerk! I have the records in storage, but I have a new baby and it would be almost impossible to get them in time for the deadline which was a few days away.
