The chef/owner (Dan san) is the former kitchen cook at their old location, when it was run by the Japanese owner.
He still kept the authentic Japanese recipes for the new location. He's an honest, kind person, which means honest, good food!
Decent spot. The food was good but the service could've been better.
Dined in with the family. We were very happy with the chicken katsu, bento teriyaki chicken, and the shrimp tempura soba. Generous portions! The following week we ordered Pho for take out. Both the roundsteak and the chicken Pho broth were super tasty. Generous portions even for takeout. Food is a hit with the family! Attached is their most recent menu.
The food is good at times and average on others. The customer service has improved so I am happy about that. I guess I'm a little biased, because I've actually lived in Japan and experienced the best customer service I've ever experienced. The Japanese really take pride in the preparation and delivery of food. Sure would love to of that here. This area could really use their guidance and examples for providing optimal Service to their customers. Just found out today that the chef isn't actually from Japan. Now I understand why the experiences there are not consistent and today the food wasn't good at all. 😒
The food is very tasty and the server is friendly and helpful in explaining the types of food there. Prices are also extremely fair for the portions you get! I'll be coming again!
So here's the deal, I don't normally rate restaurants, but this place is FANTASTIC. I mean, Top Notch. I am sitting here at one of their super plush and spacious, quiet booths, waiting on my food. Oh damn! Here it is now. I don't even type fast. Well, make your way over here! Its great. Aaand delicious. (Eating Pho)
I went around 8 PM, and there was no one else there when I arrived. The staff waited on me immediately and was very prompt in taking my order and delivering my food. The food was delicious and more than worth the price! I even had enough to take home!
The decor is very pleasant as well. It's a nice quiet setting to enjoy a great meal after a long day!
Very good food my family always love to come and eat here
The food is very good, and it is a great place to try Japanese, Vietnamese, and Thai food all at one restaurant.
It is clean and the seating area is not crowded. We had the ramen and a fried noodle dish. The fried noodles were some of the best I have had in a long time. The noodles were good, but I would love to find a place that made their own. I was in China, and all the noodles there were very fresh, and it made a difference.
There is space to put some dividers in the seating area, which I would suggest, to create a bit more intimate feel. However as is, the dining room could easily support large groups.
Best Japanese Food ever. The Oyakodon, Drunken Noodles, Curry Duck are all fantastic
Me and my family LOVE this place!! Excellent food and staff!! Always friendly!!!
Kappo Nara's staff are very respectful, efficient, and patient. The food is delicious, somehow the Japanese, Thai, and Vietnamese taste really authentic. Come here almost every Sunday and plan to keep coming.
