  MEET THE MEDINA STAFF - MICHELE MENZEL Michele grew up in Iowa and started dance classes at the age of five. Through her twelve years at Cherie’s Dance Studio, Michele trained in tap, ballet, jazz, pointe, and hip hop. She was awarded two full scholarships and danced the lead roles in the studio’s productions of “Cinderella" and "Alice in Wonderland". Her competition team was awarded the Hoctor’s Dance Caravan Grand Champions Trophy. She also worked at the studio as an instr...uctor and choreographer. During her college years, Michele was a member of the University of Iowa dance team, performing at football games, including the Rose Bowl in Pasadena and the Holiday Bowl in San Diego; wrestling meets; and basketball games. While at the university, Michele was also selected to be a member of the Balou Jazz troupe. Michele has toured with two dance companies. During the first tour, with Dance Caravan, she traveled throughout the United States and Canada. Michele was an assistant teacher during convention workshops and performed in the shows. She had the amazing opportunity to work with dancers and choreographers from the Joffrey Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Broadway, and music videos. The second tour, with Arts Entertainment, performed throughout England and France. The highlight was dancing onstage at EuroDisney. Upon moving to Minnesota, Michele taught jazz, tap, ballet and lyrical at The Dance Shoppe. She was on the coaching staff for the Wayzata Trojet Dance Team for 10 years and currently coaches the Wayzata Showstoppers Performance Team. Michele has enjoyed getting involved with Medina Just for Kix over the past 7 years. She is looking forward to another fantastic year!

  MEET MEDINA STAFF - AVERY DAVIDGE My name is Avery Davidge, I grew up in Brainerd MN and danced at the Brainerd Just For Kix and was apart of the Stroia Ballet Company for 15 years. Along with that I danced on the Brainerd Warrior Dance Team for four years and was captain and MVP my senior year. I am now going into my Junior year at the University of Saint Thomas where I danced on the UST dance team for 2 years.

  Thursday August 22nd is our “Back To Dance Bash” from 6-8 at Medina Just For Kix! I hope you all have it marked on your calendars and are planning to attend! Dancers can wear your dance clothes because we have free 15 minute classes you can take! Here is the lineup for the “Back To Dance Bash” free classes:

  Everyone can get sized for uniforms and shoes. Most of the Medina JFK staff will be there so you can see them before the season begins! Bring your friends and come on down. We can’t wait to see you all there!

  MEET THE MEDINA STAFF - JACKIE ERICKSON Jackie grew up dancing at Summit as well as Wayzata High School, where she was a four-year State participant in Jazz and Kick, and two-time State Champion in Jazz. Jackie graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison where she was a member of the UW Dance Team, participating at UDA nationals in Florida as well as cheering at the 2011 Rose Bowl. Jackie was married last October to her husband, Joe. They have a yellow lab puppy, Lena, who keeps them busy! Aside from dancing she enjoys golf, yoga and watching Badger football games. Jackie feels very honored to be part of the Just For Kix program and can't wait for an exciting year ahead!

  MEET YOUR DIRECTOR!

  Meet Meghan, an experienced dancer who has been teaching for over 25 years. Meghan trained in Plymouth, MN, and danced at Drake University. She also danced for the Minnesota Timberwolves and has had the honor of being on the choreography team for Super Bowls in Jacksonville, FL and Minneapolis, MN, as well as an NFL kickoff and the VMA Awards. Through the Minnesota Association of Dance Teams (MADT) Coaches Association Meghan was named the Assistant Coach of the year 5 times, Head Coach of the Year in 2009 and was named to the MADT Hall of Fame. This will be her 13th year as the proud Director of Medina Just For Kix!
