One eyeball says it all. How many of you back to school moms are feeling me? I’ve paid my dues in the running from orthodontist to sports physical|birthday party|sports pictures|parent meeting|grocery store...home to my comfy jammies only to be told that “we” were supposed to wear an orange T-shirt or bring green cupcakes tomorrow. I’m here to say I see you! 👀 And I can tell you that it does get better, sorta. You get better at it, you survive it, this is just a season in... your life. Things always change. Kinda like your lack of sleep due to crying babies is eventually replaced by lack of sleep due to driving teenagers. Your memory loss due to kids is now memory loss due to menopause. My advice is to settle in for the long haul. Don’t strive for perfect. Do not let them wear you down. It’s ok to lose your shit occasionally (someday they will understand). Sacrifice an hour of sleep at night or the morning to get your shit together. (Trust me it helps) Eat less carbs/more healthy fats. Love yourself. Go to sleep & start it all over again. Stop making plans for when things slow down again, because it doesn’t. Canning season has begun! Ya know I’ve downsized a lot of stuff around here, the garden being one of them. The Mr. was starting to hoard the jars of salsa & cowboy candy like Gollum 🤣 & it was freaking me out so I upped production this year. If you ask him nicely he may share again. After a bunch of custom work it’s a nice break when the next quilt in queue is a perfectly pieced beauty & the customer says do whatever you want! This quilt feels a little patriotic & a little summery with that Caribbean ocean blue sashing. I found this fun graffiti star looking pattern that has swirls like ocean waves & I was sold! I’m so glad I went to see #jennyontheroad @missouriquiltco in Lancaster yesterday. I laughed more than I did at the Dane Cook & Kevin Hart shows I’ve attended in the last few years & she was truly an inspirational person. We had so much in common including Swedish immigrant ancestors settling in the Midwest! All of the staff & family members that work for Missouri Star love what they do & it shows.
