I wish I could give less stars, because I will never go back to this grocery store. My husband and I just moved to the area, and decided to take a walk to pick up a couple groceries. The products were all over the place, however that wasn't the woe of my experience. We walked over to the liquor section next to the registers, and immediately started hearing the cashiers talking about us. They were speaking loud enough for us to hear, so we were meant to hear what they were saying. Not only were they talking about ID-ing "out of towners," they were also talking about the chaos that they cause in the store. I'm 27 years old, so I understand the need to ID me, but to talk about me without engaging me in conversation was one of the rudest things I have ever experienced. The cashiers continued to gossip as we walked away to look for something else in this mess of a store, then we turn to find we are being followed. Instead of asking if we needed help, they antagonized us. Finally I had to walk up to the counter to ask where the item I was looking for was located, I was told. Then once again I come around the corner to a cashier spying on me like I was trying to steal or something. It was pure xenophobia from the moment we walked into the store. This is very unfortunate for a town that seems to thrive on tourists sales during the summertime. The women that were working should be embarrassed for treating customers like that, just because they don't recognize them. I am so disappointed that any business would allow such discrimination.
