tough to go wrong with pretty much anything you get

    top menu items:

    chicken avacado enchiladas
    monterey burrito
    pollo magnifico (poy•yo mag•nif•ǝ•coe)

    uncommon items that are great:

    california quesadia
    guacamole dip
    carnitas chimmi (with espinaca)

i might be a bit biased -- im a server here (also quite a few other positions)

    food 8/10 (on average)
    service 10/10 (@me)

    drinks are great
    pepsi products // decent bar

overall, hard to find something better

Not impressed all fluff no stuff. A tad better than taco bell. If you want spicy food they don't have it. Their habanero hot sauce is like ketchup. Should have brought my El Yucateco sauce🙄

Wow! Absolute horrible experience. And I love these places! Eat all over the area/KC, etc. Its not like I dont know what to expect from Jose Peppers.
    1) The table COLLAPSED. Flat fell out of the wall.
    2) Was sat at another table and waited 10 minites to be greeted.
    3) Ordered Espinaca with tortillas...Espinaca came out cold. And I finally got the tortillas AFTER I FINISHED MY MEAL.
    4) Had to ask for silverware twice
    5) Had to ask for the check twice
    6) They acted obligated to help me
    7) After waiting 15 mins to pay, went to the hostess to pay since my server hadnt been back.
    8) Watched another couple across the dinning room have a worse experience with a different server.

This was the worst Jose Peppers I have ever eaten at. Taco Bell is a HUGE step up compared to this one. Sorry to be so dramatic. But it sucked. Wont go again.

Will say that the manager did see the frustration and paid for my meal. Agitated too much to care. But they didnt charge me for this.

Our server was great. Food not so much. Messy order up area. The whole place was kind of grungy. At 1900 not very many people. Red flag! Wont go back anytime soon. The one on the east side is waaayyyy better!

Ok the waitress and the manager were great! !! The cook however doesn't know how to pay attention! !! I am highly allergic to jalapeños. ..so I tell the waitress who rights it on the ticket and then everything on my plate ends up having them in it. Not GOOD! !!!! However my waitress and the manager took good care of me Margaritas are great it's okay to go eat there but if you're allergic make sure they tell the cook

TERRIBLE! The wait was not bad for a Saturday night and since we are new to Wichita we said, why not try Jose Peppers? Boy oh boy do we regret that decision. Everything we experienced during our visit was completely disappointing. The service was some of the worst I've ever had - inattentive, slow, and no attention to detail. The restaurant was filthy. Our table was still sticky from the party before us and there was food on the wall next to the booth. For only 2 adult entrees it took nearly an hour from getting seated to receiving our food. After the long wait we were ready to dig in. Not so fast, the presentation of our food was very off-putting. Pounds of shredded cheese melted on top of the entrees needed to be peeled off before we could actually taste our main course and even then it was lackluster. I knew it was a chain and not authentic Mexican food, but I would have rather had Taco Bell. If you are reading this review, do yourself a favor and head to Abuelos or Monterrey. I will never step foot back in this cafeteria again....

My favorite Mexican restaurant! The chips & salsa are always fresh & the best! The food is great & the service is greater. The GM is always friendly & the waitresses (Debbie) are the best. They really make you feel welcome & take good care of their patrons.

The food for the most part is good. The service not so much. Not to mention the employees goof off and say inappropriate things while in the kitchen, I think they forget that several tables can see into the kitchen.

Great food and great service. Can be crowded at times, which I feel leads to your table being forgotten. But this is pretty rare.

Jose Pepper's had the best chips and salsa around! They have a huge variety of food to chose from. Almost everything I have eaten here is delicious. The jalapeño creme cheese that they put in a lot of their entrees is excellent! It is usually very busy but you usually don't have a real long wait. If you do have to wait it's worth it.
