Rocky terrain in parts, uphill on the way back. Falls well worth the hike, especially after a good rain. Would make a great family hike! Took about 2 hours with stopping at the falls and snapping photos; I'd say add 45 minutes for kids. Pick up the trail at mm 84 parking lot and go left at the marking post.

Took the family here on the way to Williamsburg. So glad for the exercise after 7 hours in the car. Great trail, neat waterfall, and beautiful countryside. Big bonus is the parallel AT!
