Their ER JUST released my diabetic sister who has a bad infection WITHOUT ANY blood work not even checking her sugars. I WILL be reporting them to the state and I HIGHLY suggest everyone else with complaints do the same.
They sent my grandma home with a broken hip!!!! If at all costs, go to Southside Regional Medical Center in PETERSBURG. At least they won't send you home with a broken hip.
My last visit I was made to feel like I didn't matter and that I was a druggie even though I have all paperwork showing I am legitamate I was told I had pnuemonia at a doctor then when I went in not able to breathe they said there is no way anybody saw pnuemonia and acted like I was crazy as well as my numbers dont change now that I've had pancreatitis so long but they dont believe me when I'm having a miserable flare up and just say nothing is wrong bye. They need to be reported and watched closely
My dad went there for a panic attack and when he had one in the emergency room the staff said what is wrong to him. He can't talk he was having a panic attack. Teach your staff how to be a nurse. Never going there again.
I don't usually review places, products, etc unless it's absolutely warranted. This is. To start: A Warning: If you have chronic pain of any kind, don't visit this Emergency Room unless you really don't have many choices. Has some Doctor or person made you feel like a drug addict?? If not, then do go there. I did have one positive experience where the doctor actually made me feel cared about and that she took me seriously. The male doctor (Physicians Assistant) however, made me question my own da*n self by the time I was being discharged. Didn't care to see my documentation proving everything I said. Didn't care to listen to my fiance that I couldn't so much as dress myself without crying. Nada. My favorite part (insert sarcasm here) was when he asked me 2 particular questions and after I answered them replied with, "yeah, a lot of drug addicts or seekers say that." Brava. Way to make me feel worse about myself. I get that they are (and have to) cut back on these pain meds but c'mon....how about us real people who have actual black and white proof that we are legit. If you do end up HAVING to go here, I wish the best luck and Godspeed!
Worse hospital nursing staff needs to be retrained and educated on nursing skills. My mother was in due to congestive hear failure fluid had build up in feet and legs plus breathing issues. She was catherized so couldn't get up on own to defecate plus alarm was bed. She rang for help to restroom stated they never came in relieved herself in bed I happened to visit her and she informed me she had defecated in the bed and no one had come in to help I personally rang for nurse informed them what had happened still waited another 20 minutes before anyone came in. Asked why no one responded was told she's not our only patient was totally shocked at her attitude. Two days later returned again in morning she once again was laying in her own waste said all night I cleaned her up myself. Went to speak to nursing staff got attitude said well she never informed us and rolled her eyes and walk away. Later that same day she rang for nurse again I was in her bathroom when she came in I clearly heard her say what now my mother said her Iv hurt lady said I'll tell your nurse. Needless to say it was infiltrated took 2 hours to correct this I witnessed myself. This was the telemetry floor.
If you want the absolute worst care...come here. They are ridiculously unorganized and uncaring. They could honestly care less if they help you or not. I've never seen such disorganization. I
No one knows what anyone is doing. And everyones answer is..."be with you in one minute." One of their minutes is 2 hours. I've been done with my treatment for 3 hours and I've been sitting in this room begging nurses to please discharge me so I can go home. Got here at 2:30pm still here at 10:15pm with no end in sight.
Its utterly ridiculous. Get your stuff together John Randolph.
All times I have gone there to the ER they have been rude and disrespectful to me. I went to the ER one time because I was having a dizzy spells from the time I walked in until i left to go home it was aweful they need to put people that are not nurses in ER that know how to take blood or have the lab department come in and properly train them on how to do it right. Also they do not take no for an answer they will give you a big guilt trip to get what they want and that is sad. I told my mother's doctor what was going on he is on the board of trustees and said to call the director the next time it happens. i went yesterday for needed tested and was treated with decency but it was not the ER luckily. They need to get there act straight in the ER and all parts of it just to make sure every body knows how to act towards patients out or inpatient. Part of this place is a joke get on the ball people show some compassion karma is a b****.
Every time I have had to visit the ER , either as a patient or with a family member, the nurses have been warm and friendly , knowledgeable and professional. The physicians , NP, and PA's are the same. I won't take my family to another hospital because of this . Love my local hospital.
Horrible staff dr.Renee sandlin is the rudest person ever ask questions doesn't listen to answers walking away as you answer tried to give me medication I am allergic to and refused to provide an alternative! Don't take your dog there horrible experience I will be going back to st.Mary's from now on!!
Very fast to see you, wait time is usually about 5 min. Great place to go for minor issues not for major.
Parking isn't far from buildings. That is unusual & appreciated. It's easy to access via RT. 10, Iron bridge Road East into Hopewell crossing the bridge. Open & simple to locate, the site is pretty & relaxing. How many hospitals can say that? It offers what is needed & standard regarding a cafeteria. The staff is a mixed bag, so I don't have much to share. What is good are the people who extend care & kindness in a difficult environment. Those folks are in all kinds of jobs & very appreciated. To me, they are the heroes. Look for that in a custodian who holds a door or server who offers information, clerk or registrar who gives cheer & patience.
The past two days my elderly mother has had appointments here. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Every area I've been in (outpatient and radiology) have been extremely clean. Very professional and pleasant experience.
