This is the ranch home of John Muir, 1838-1914, explorer, naturalist, author and foremost advocate of forest protection and of national parks. The John Muir Trail through the high Sierra, Muir Woods National Monument, and Muir Glacier in Alaska are named for him.

    This was a really nice place to visit on a road trip. Walk all the way to the top of the home to ring the bell.

    The John Muir National Historic Site is great place to come visit and learn about history of this area. This is an awesome must see local. Bring your camera for you Kodak Moment!
