Joe’s Power Washing is a privately owned and operated company that specializes in removing mold, mildew, and dirt from a variety of outdoor surfaces, including (but not limited to) homes, decks, patios, sidewalks, and businesses. Almost every outdoor structure has dirt on it and majority of homes have some sort of mold or mildew on them. Molds are small organisms found almost anywhere, indoors and outdoors. They can appear in many different colors- white, orange, green, and black are the most common. Just because you cannot see any mold, does not mean that it is not there. Mold can get into your home through open windows and doors.

Not only does mold make the building look less valuable, it may also cause structural damage and be hazardous to your health. Pregnant women, infants, the elderly and those with health problems, such as respiratory disease or a weakened immune system, are more susceptible to illness when exposed to mold. Exposure to molds can cause allergic symptoms such as watery eyes, a runny nose, sneezing, nasal congestion, itching, coughing, wheezing, difficulty breathing, headache and fatigue.

Mold and mildew occur mostlly outdoors and counts can fluctuate from day to day, depending on the season. Testing for molds is very difficult and expensive. There is no standard of how much mold is acceptable. The price of removing this hazardous substance from the outside of your home and other surfaces to eliminate the health complications is not as expensive as many think, but varies according to the size of the structure and exterior surface. Many people have a pressure washer of their own that they can use to wash their homes, but there are many dangers associated with using ladders to get those hard to reach places.
