I would put this arena in my top 5. The entire place is classic and is very eye catching. I have been here a couple of times and I loved it. We will miss Joe Louis Arena as a very very good arena

I'm ruining a lot of memories here (including my own) but this place was relatively mediocre by comparison to other arenas in the league (and was definitely blown out of the water by The Palace of Auburn Hills in terms of what was available in the metro area.) Was there a lot of history here? Indeed there was, but the interior was relatively gray and drab, the men's bathrooms offered no privacy whatsoever, the stairs always felt like a death trap, and there was absolutely no parking on-site. It was the Little Caesars that saved this place (for some reason, the pizza just tasted the best at JLA) and the Molson too back when it was a Molson house (sadly, they changed to serving Labatt towards the end, which was a mediocre substitution.) Hopefully the new arena provides a better overall experience for hockey fans, basketball fans, and concert goers in the area.

A chraming old barn great history great team great fan base. Great beer and a falling apart jumbo tron. One of the funnest arenas I have ever been to see an NHL game.

I went with my mother who uses a cane. We were directed to the ADA entrance, asked if we wanted wheelchair assistance (we didn't) and escorted us to our seats. It was awesome. Great time.

I had a really fun time there going to NHL games and concerts, prices for food and drinks were high, but then the new arena might be higher, still I loved this arena and will miss it!

I'll be sad to see her go, but its time. You can see the age in this building, especially when you are used to being in nice new arenas. Too bad the Wings couldn't pull together a good year for the farewell at least they won their last game and gave it a proper send off!

Joe Louis Arena is a landmark in the city of Detroit. Despite the fact that the services and amenities are limited, the staff is friendly and efficient. And the experience is unrivaled. Ask anyone familiar with this venue and they will say it will definitely be missed.

I decided I needed to stop by and see a game at the legendary Joe Louis arena and I am glad I did. I understand why they want a new arena, the corridors were nearly impassable at times and would be a serious safety issue. The arena has marvelous history and statues of the great players in it's history on the corridor. I think the arena is a must see of any die hard red wings or hockey fan.

A great arena that will be missed by Hockey fans.
The best bathroom locale is at section 110 where you walk up the stairs above the food lines.
It looks like there is always a line but It has the most sinks and the most stalls, and I have never waited more than two minutes for a stall even in the rush of Intermissions.
