Alway's a good job at a good price. Done blower motors, Brakes, & Radiators, so on for me in the past. Last visit was a Front and Rear lift kit on my new truck. A++ workmanship.

The guys sold me the worst bucket I ever drove, rushed the sale process and painted all the imperfections in a way that made the car look good. It wasn't until I brought the car to a real professional that showed me exactly what they did. The car only drove a 6 month and to the junk yard. DON'T BUY A CAR THERE, no matter how nice it looks.

I drove an hour to look at an 03 Forester. I get there, and 1st thing the salesman says to me is "it's not 100%" ok, not a big deal I didn't expect perfection from a 14 year old car, but the price and mileage was right. I took it for a quick test drive, get back to the lot to do more looking into the car. Besides bad wheel bearings, I notice the oil is like molasses, the coolant is a nasty green/brown shade, and it's leaking oil pretty badly from the bottom end. Also, the car will need pads and rotors all the way around, and will need 4 tires very soon. The salesman comes out and says "shoot me a number" that I'd be comfortable paying for this car. I tell him with all the work that it's going to need BESIDES the wheel bearings(which the salesman said they'd do), I wouldn't be comfortable paying more then $1800. To be fair, it took me an hour or more to finally get to that number after figuring out how much it'll take to repair what's wrong with it, and the salesman didn't pressure me much. At one point, he said to me, "give me $1500, and you're responsible for everything yourself. So I finally agree to $1800 with them doing the bearings. The salesman agrees, and says "let me just make a call to the owner". The owner says no go, he wants $2000. I ask the salesman to get the owner on the phone so I could talk to him, and he refused. If I had known the salesman had no authority, I would've tried to deal with the owner directly. The salesman then gets nasty, and says "I thought you were leaving an hour ago". I will NEVER DEAL with these people again, totally unprofessional.

It hurts me to have to write this review because in the past my services at Jay's shop have all been positive. However, how Jay treated me two weeks ago when I brought my Trailblazer in for a Power-steering leak was in no way, shape, nor form acceptable or professional. If you are that burnt out you need an extended break, or perhaps sell your business and do something you enjoy. I was insulted, both directly and indirectly because I spoiled his "easy day" by bringing in a car repair that was difficult. Keep in mind I called Jay on the Monday prior to OK bringing the vehicle in for the repair that Friday, this was not an unknown. Nor did I ask for a discount, yet he was yelling "this is what he gets trying to help people out, he gets screwed" Um excuse me Jay I believe I offered you MORE money for the work performed. I have never left a mechanic's in tears before, but I can assure you that will be the last time Mr. Pahl services any of my or my friends vehicles. Until he gets the vacation he must obviously need i would say, save your money, or pay more elsewhere to be treated like a human being!

My family has been dealing with the Pahl family since the 1940s. My grandmother always got her gasoline from him from the time George opened his station in the 1940s. Back in 2003, I brought my car in for a head gasket which was diagnosed by Jay Pahl. He indicated that he had no time to do it in the near future so I brought my car to the Quiet Zone in Terryville and got severely screwed. I saved up exactly the needed amount to have the head gasket changed and nothing else. I called the people at the Quiet Zone two days later to see how the work was coming along only to find out that they did over $800.00 worth of work which I never authorized and never touched the head gasket.

Jay Pahl, who initially indicated that the car needed a head gasket, refused to write out a letter stating that he had looked at the car and what his diagnosis was and so I was left to my own defenses. Even though my family was loyal to his family's business, he couldn't be bothered helping one of his long time customers.

Today, May the 11th, 2015, I called, against my better judgment (I was recommended to him by another mechanic in town) to have my air conditioner looked at in my 1995 Cadillac DeVille. Jay indicated that he wasn't interested in doing work on a 1995 Cadillac even though I have seen Cadillacs of that year on his lot of used cars. He then told me to go to someone who I could trust --- meaning (I took it) that I could not trust him.

Jay's father was an honest man. I would not say the same about Jay.

I don't recommend anyone going to this place of business anymore as you will undoubtedly come to the same conclusion.
