  3 Generations of my wife's family have gone to Mr. Hess for the past 40 years & when my wife moved out of the area many years ago, she insisted that we drive the 45 minutes to Harrisburg to Mr. James H Hess to have our taxes prepared every year. We trust their knowledge & will not go anywhere else. We always look forward to Mr. Hess singing or humming with the old time music playing in the background. Except, one year my wife asked why he wasn't singing and he took the time to sing her a song before we left :) The entire staff is always friendly.

  Mr Hess and all of his employees are always very friendly and helpful. They are very knowledgable and prepare my taxes in just a small amount of time. It is also very nice and reassuring that Mr Hess takes the time to look over the taxes after his employee prepares them to make sure everything is correct. I always have a pleasant experience there every year. His prices are very affordable and I always enjoy listening to his stories and the old fashioned music he plays. Not to mention the office always has the most pleasant smell of a coffee house and a very comfortable atmosphere. I don't ever feel rushed and do not feel like I am in a corporate type setting. Jim's place is more like a home to get your taxes done. I definitely recommend Jim Hess to anyone looking for a honest, reliable tax guy!

  Jim hung up the phone as I was introducing our agency needs, he thought I was selling him services. I was calling him to ask him how he could help our agency. Wow!

  Mr. Hess and his staff are friendly and courteous. He has hard working interns and the additional office support is always there to greet you with a smile. I have been going to Jim Hess ever since I have started doing my taxes. His regular assistants normally get the job done within 20-30 minutes, even when I go there unprepared (like I am sure a lot of us do). I have never had an unpleasant experience while being there. On top of that, Jim Hess actually knows how to sing. I know that has nothing to do with taxes, but hey, the guy knows how to serenade while crunching numbers. I don't care who you are, that's impressive.

  this guy and his people are the best! been going to him for years, and he has always made this process quick and painless. he truly knows his stuff, and very often gets you more money back than places like h&r block.
