    J. Paul's is a fun eatery and bar that has been in Georgetown for a long time. We think that it is still a nice place to grab some oysters and a few shooters, meet your friends, and then head out for the evening on the town. Georgetown prices, but good drinks and friendly staff.

I really enjoyed coming to this place. They have great service and great food. This place has been in Georgetown for decades now and has always been good. I definitely suggest stopping by here for lunch or dinner. It's not a place that I I would recommend if you're going with children because it's more expensive and catered to adults.

Server was condescending & very unpleasant. Food was ridiculous. 5 tiny shrimp on overpriced shrimp salad. Many other better choices in Georgetown.

Very nice establishment to come and get seafood. I came here for something lite. I ordered an appetizer and a side. Very filling. Very tasty. Food came out very fast. Server was very attentive and friendly. A decent size restaurant. Business seems to always be booking for them.

Beyond disappointing. This restaurant has gone significantly downhill and will continue to lose customers to the point of not being able to support its historic location. There is bad service that goes to the point of not facilitating a basic dining experience. We booked ahead, received a table that was not completely set and too small to accommodate our average party of four. Specials were misunderstood and had to be corrected on our bill. All somewhat understandable and excusable in a busy Georgetown restaurant. But when asked by my kids why the staff was so mean, after having received our meals at different times, and late, it occurred to me that we had been treated as an inconvenience by all staff from the hostess to the bus staff to the Asst manager. Life is too short to pay for that treatment.

Decent bar/pub food, but that was when i visited 2 years ago. Quite small inside but was able to accommodate a larger party. Staff was good too. Love the vibe and the brick walls. Would go again.

We came around 1 on a Sunday and were surprised there was no waitnow we know why. Our server was amazing, energetic, knowledgeable and friendly. Our food, every single thing we ordered, was undercooked. The crab dip probably would've been fairly good if it was hotor warmor at least room temp, and the baguettes that came with it were still frozen on the inside, but were tasty once they came back heated up. My undercooked fried green tomato burger was tasty but I didn't want to keep eating because it was so pink and still cold in the center. My boyfriend's chicken sandwich was basic, very basic for the price and was still pink in a few areas so he gave up on it as well.

Hopefully they get their kitchen crew together because the service was great and the place itself is fairly nice. Just overall disappointing.

A bit of a Georgetown institution this classic American restaurant is a good place to get seafood or basic fare. Personally I like the various specials they offer including their half priced Monday burger night.

The bar is elongated and sits perpendicular to its frontage directly on M street. On nice days they open their windows to the foot traffic which wanders past the portal of shellfish on ice.

If you are in Georgetown along M Street and looking for a nice bite to eat this place oozes traditional comfort food.
